« Squier Precision Bass Special »
Published on 01/08/04 at 15:00I was in my hometown Gothemburg, Sweden to look for a new bass, because the bass I had at the time just was a piece of crap. I walked into my favourite music shop Musik Utan Gränser (Music Without Limits), and I decided to try a Fender Precision Bass. When I first tried it, it sounded like a dream (That´s because I was used to the sound of my shit bass...) It was kind of expensive, but I really wanted it. I came back to the store about a month later, and I decided to try another, cheaper bass. I picked up a Squier Precision Bass Special for about 300 dollars, and plugged it into a Fender Frontman bass amp. I started playing, and I was shocked! It sounded fucking amazing!! I decided to compare the two basses, and the Fender sounded dull. The Squier sounded clear, but also very bright. It was the exact sound I wanted, so I saved all my money to buy it. About two months later it was mine...
I like the mix of the P-bass pickup and the J-bass pickup. The bass is so versatile. The sound in the P-bass pickup is really great, and when you mix it with the Jazz, the sound is almost perfect. Even in small, basic amps, the sound is incredible. The neck plays like butter, and the action is sweet. I like the Precision body. It´s so solid. It feels great. I also love the price of this thing!!!!
There are only two things to complain about:
1. When I first got the bass, the frets were buzzing a little bit, but it was easy as a pie to
