«  A good low base. »

Best value: Excellent
The Squier VM Jazz Bass Jazz Bass is a pretty standard.

A neck pickup, a bridge pickup.
Gain setting for each microphone.
A setting of general tone.

My model is very well finished. Good mechanical strength sweat.

UTILIZATION

This is my first bass, I can hardly compare.
For my part, it seems to me entirely correct in terms of ergonomics.
I soon had the sound I wanted, despite my lack of experience.

Missing a mark on the knobs. It is not possible to see how they are resolved.

SOUNDS

I quickly found the settings that allow me to have the sound I wanted.
The standard setting in Bass, the two pickups and tone at the bottom center, seduced me from the first test.
Secondly, I love the sound of the neck pickup alone. Playing with the tone, we arrive at a sound close to the bass that I like also particularly.
The bridge pickup alone seems too aggressive. But, he adds slamming necessary when mixing the two pickups. And it offers an interesting opening to a new palette of sound (for example coupled to an effect).

I play almost exclusively on computer simulation amp and very little about my little Fender amp.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had 2 years. This is my first bass and I am very happy.
I still have not changed my strings and I made the necessary tweaks myself.

I have not tried many model because in this price range, it was almost the only model available.

The lack of reference on the settings a bit bored, but I will read it.

Value for money excellent.
With experience, I would do this choice without hesitation. I think my second bass could be a Squier Precision.
