This is the model Excess Roger Glover Custom. It exists only in two colors: blue or red. mine is red.

Like all Vigier, it is hand made in France. The wood (French) are dried for about three years and varnishes five weeks. The frets are all stainless steel.

It also affects the choice between a maple or rosewood.

UTILIZATION

The gameplay of Vigier made their reputation and that it does not escape the rule despite a round of 42m / m nut. A marvel of ergonomics! The satin finish is really very nice ... it glides on its own. The access to the treble is good, but worse than Roger Glover Original model that has a notch, which is not the case here.

Mine weighs 4.25kg. The bass is perfectly balanced when strapped. The look is unique but has its charm. There is also no indentation at the forearm on the model as "Original" because of a maple binding around the body. This can be annoying after a few hours of play, but nothing alarming.

In the details that make life easier: the carbon reinforcement in the handle to avoid having to deal with this one and can play with strings very close to the frets with no frieze. The bridge provides a disassembly / assembly quick ropes. The tuners hold very good agreement.

Finally, the finish is perfect.

SOUNDS

With two microphones and a 3-band preamp, there's plenty to question versatility. The sound was obviously his identity, it is typed "modern" but still very malleable.

The sustain is insane and all frequencies are present, musical without being invasive. The sound is always accurate, with grain and blends perfectly into the mix. A must! The micro scale is very effective and allows you to find the "right balance".

The slap was fine, the volume pot to medium extra work done perfectly and can really shape your sound. Overall, I find that this model signature sound more "rock" that the excess or II models Arpege and Passion, which seems logical in view of the collaboration that has resulted in this model.

OVERALL OPINION

In my case, this Vigier is a revelation. I find that this is the perfect point of view of sound, playability, finish or practical aspects.

Moreover, it comes with a superb quality case.
