Low 24 frets made for me in 1996 in Germany. 2-band EQ, passive pickups boosted by a preamp disengaged.
The violin is impeccable with his kind of big phallus which gives it a particular property.
The neck is wide but I have that hyper little hands I go out very well after a period of adaptation.
the battery is located behind a plastic cover that comes off in two seconds flat with tabs that have a tendency to break.
The pickups are configuration P / J. .. we like it or not, it allows at least to feel everything.
In my view an excellent low and high quality ultra reliable ... but which is unfortunately no longer manufactured.

UTILIZATION

Contrary to previous opinion, I found an excellent playability despite my hands of Mickey, and although I am not a big fan of slap.
Access to acute is easy, good ergonomics and weight is pretty decent.
We easily find a good sound ... since this bass sounds great: a knob for bass, one for treble, one volume knob and a knob to switch the microphones. Clear.
Being able to disengage the preamp knob by pulling the volume is a nice touch.

SOUNDS

I play progressive rock and our music is a lot of back and forth between the atmospheres. This bass very versatile and responsive can vary my game perfectly
Obviously, it sounds more "modern" but may change in a lot of styles, from metal to reggae, from jazz to zip Youtz. We can blow the eardrums by boosting the treble and slapper, as can massage the intestines by boosting the bass. Facing her, my Ibanez SR500 is now pale face.
Finally, by switching the preamp can be obtained more vintage sounds and this means the wood sing (Warwick, the sound of the wood).

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this bass amazing second hand a year ago for a ridiculous price.
I would do this choice with his eyes closed. I just purchased a Fender Plow United States to complete my range and now I cover all my needs with these two instruments.
I also have a SR500 that I will sell it as totally overwhelmed by my Fortress one.
The sound is superb, reliable instrument making, the potential broad ... all at a price that I consider very correct. If you find one used, do not hesitate one second.
