UTILIZATION

Very pleasant neck and in spite of other opinions I don't find it too thick! Yes, it's thick but not too wide so playing it represents ABSOLUTELY no problem. It's not comparable with Ibanez, Cort and others... The overall manufacturing quality of the instrument is good. The access to upper frets is not a problem. Regarding the sound... simply use good amps...

The weight is ok. Try a 5-string Stingray or a BTB 400QM and you'll immediately notice the difference...

SOUNDS

This bass is not conceived for slapping, that's for sure. There are others bass guitars much better suited for that. But it's good for jazz, rock, ... It's difficult to say which music style fits this instrument better... It depends on the amp, the strings, etc.

I decided to put flat wound strings on it. I play it with the following amps: Gallien-Krueger 700RBII, Traynor YBA200 and BASSPOD XT LIVE + QSC USA. I'm impressed by the sound of this bass no matter which amp I use. The frequency control is very accurate and the bass produces a nice and fat low-end. I give it an 8 for the sound!!! It's an ideal bass for solos since you can move pretty easily along the neck.

OVERALL OPINION

I don't really understand some reviews. It's one of the last instruments of my collection that I would sell... I love the finish and the neck-through body. I know the pickups are no revelation, but considering what other instruments have to offer, it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's also a quite rare model and I like its personality. You must play it smoothly to enjoy its neck (and flat wound strings are the perfect complement).

I'm a collector so I've tested lots of other bass guitars and there is no need to compare it with a Fender, a Music Man, an Ibanez BTB, a Washburn or a Hondo All Star. Every instrument has its own personality, ergonomics, pickups, etc. The most important thing is to enjoy playing them.

The sound is not prcis and lacks personality. The sound works well in a rock and hard rock style, to be a low prcis made much better at mdiator jou.
I use it with ropes to a 45/105 for the slightly less fat and more prcis.

As against the strength of this bass is the neck-through, which is rare in plutt this price range! He brings a great sustain all and that's what makes this bass I find a bit suprieur its competitors in a same range.
