Wait, do not leave right away, it's made in Taiwan that has nothing to do with what was in the 80s, you know electronic stuff that is now all Chinese. No, this is serious and it is written on, "according to the specifications and under the control of Yamaha."
Well, it is written in English but the meaning is there.

Was in the hands an alder body, solid.
The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets well polished, the profile is flatter than that of a PB but its width is comparable to modern PB course.

For electronics it has two microphones Yamaha screen keypad that is, to what they told me, the PBass, supercharged by active electronics with two bands (bass and treble), a scale and a volume. Potentiometers feature a central screen with the exception of volume.

UTILIZATION

The handle is well designed: it fits in the hand without being too wide or too thick.
The rosewood fingerboard is a serious thickness, freight are correctly placed and very polite.
It is a comfortable handle that allows all playing techniques with a reasonable velocity. How to slap turbo demonstrator store that's not it, but below the 130 it went very smoothly.

Precisely, the sound is inspired by Fender but more malleable. Ie less typical.

In my case this is a bass that serves as my Swiss Army knife. A good trap that can go where conventional struggling to get by. Easy to mix, not bulky and handy.

I like this bass, as unglamorous as it is. Good at everything but great at nothing is typically Yam.
With very good strings is a very good instrument.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a long time.
She did not score much in time, around 250euros while it is sold close to 600 euros at its output. This is not a Fender and it sounds less synthetic than the Ibanez SR same price.

I had pretty low. Low range (Cort Action), the average range (Ibanez SRX575 and EDB605 Yamaha RBX374 and 774, Tobias Toby Pro4, BassCollection DB53, Fender Deluxe JB ...), upscale (Bongo5HH MusicMan, Fender Precision Deluxe JB and Marcus Miller, Yamaha and TRB1006 TRB4, Warwick Streamer Jazzman and Flashback, Neuser Crusade Signature).
The label has, obviously, but in terms of the qualities of this BBG4A2 I must say that I am surprised and conquered.

This is a really good bass. Kind of honest and reliable.
I am less adept look. Ok it's mouth, but the flamed maple veneer gives it a pretentiousness that is reinforced by the gold hardware. Class whore!
That said this is not a bluff Chinese dragon with a pearl inserted into the body and microphones cardboard. No, this is serious.

A good small coffee that you can take without fear wherever you would go out your not very expensive American, without having regard to the complex. As usual it's good to Yamaha. As usual it's reliable, affordable, fun to play. As usual we regret that it is not marked "made in prestige" above.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this bass for 3 years.
it suits me perfectly, very polivalente, whether in heavy metal than funk.
the bass has a neutral sound very easy to use.
I use it on stage with a 4 X 10 head and SWR WARWICK PROPHET and in the studio with a simple ID.
I recommend this bass to any bass player.
excellent price quality ratio.
then I think I would change the original mics.

I play a little bit of everything and a lot of nothing: D I'm the guitarist and bass is just me having fun from time to time, I'm not too fond of a particular style, prference nanmoins for rock and reggae that this bass is well suited, and jazz there are better o Contents of bass!
In my humble opinion, I find that this lack of personal ct low sound, which gives it the advantage of being nanmoins ASEZ versatile.
The slam agus well, the sound lacks a bit of roundness. The neck pickup is trs good, the bridge pickup is a little cold I got.
Even if I am in no slap, I think it lends itself well this bass, a violin perspective I do not know (lack of experience and technical), but a his point of view yes.
I use as an Ashdown amp AfterEight: 15watts, 8 inches => good sound, while remaining fairly prcis warm, perfect for my room

OVERALL OPINION

I've had 2.5 years (I think ...), I do not play that often trs, not that it dplaise me, but I am first and foremost guitarist.
I like the look (but no more), I love the neck pickup and the neck + bridge rglage. Versatility is his strong point I think, a sound all that honorable, a violin treated.
However I find that as the view that its look, this guitar lacks personality and not enough on its roundness, a bit too sharp (correctable on bass and the amp).
In my case, the ratio quality price is unbeatable: I had this bass for half the price (almost ...) parcequ'elle falls silent in the shop and had some gratinures so I made the case of century!
O the price I pay270 new), I would not have bought a low quality infrieure well, I do not regret my purchase. In the normal price range of this bass, I want a bass more "jazzy", especially with more of a personality standpoint and a more sober look.

This is a low with good build quality and I find fairly robust.
The mechanics are great and are good tuning!

UTILIZATION

The handle is actually not too late which is well suited to long fingers!
Access to acute is perfect, not too heavy.
The knobs allow you to properly tailor the sound.
The sound is for me very good (I think it gives its full potential on good solid Ampeg amps or Warwick).

SOUNDS

Great for the Rock, but I think metal to funk and reggae from the ease of slapper ...
The sound is easily obtained and fat is particularly enjoyable on high power amps, the clean sound too.
This is to my mind a character with low well-built (no knobs or rotten making creaky even in the long run it as low on the entry-level) and very strong.
Super value for money.

OVERALL OPINION

I have since 6-7 years!!
I like the quality of construction, its fat is exactly what I wanted.
Initially I had gone to buy an Ibanez because many of my heroes play on but unfortunately I realized what most sleeves were much too thin for my big fingers.
When I tried the yamaha I immediately knew it was this one good!
The value for money and really excellent, prefer such a low used a cheap entry-level new.
I would do without hesitation as the choice she made me service!!
When I change my low, I probably will retry a Yamaha in the lot.

2 = severe acute tone (as on PB but with an intermediate position)
3 = Balance microphones: Classical
4 = Knob acitvation active electronics with a notch cut to run its course (essential when you disconnect to be sure not use the battery in two two!)

The handle is "very" nice 40 mm and 55 mm at the nut to the twelfth case ... Therefore narrower than the conventional precision bass: 41 Memory! For a thicker handle cons of JB ... But actually I think it fits well in hand and can feel good when we play. We really have the feel of a real instrument in the legs ...

Finish, beautiful! Mine is orange flamed, much funnier than the blue on the site!
It is true that the varnish is not really thick, but in contrast we see the wood grain through the back!

Weight: lighter than the bass in 7ender ...

UTILIZATION

So ... The neck ... Eternal question bassists! Well I say fine enough for small hands (well the little fingers!) And thick enough for those who like to feel the handle in the palm of their hand. To give a comparison: I had a Geddy Lee (JB Fender) with a superb run but varnish so fine that it seems to have a small piece of wood in the paw! After I had a Telecaster bass: there is rather stick lumberjack! Well, the Yam is in between!

It fits comfortably in your hand without user in two minutes in concert! I have fairly small hands for a bassist and yet I love this race feeling great and very fast to use! A highway if you want but with a good solid bitumen!

Another great: for this range = lower frets are beveled! So that when the slides are not only torn off his hands! Ca exchange Squier Bass and other low-end ...

I'll give my opinion even if I might be a little long!
Personally I was anti Yamaha bass! Why: Well the Japanese are already in the multi product, the brand "umbrella" (found in various areas ... I do not like it! And engine maker for me is not really the same trade "Plus I'm biker for years, so Yamaha Motorcycles =! So golden question as to have a Yamaha bass!
Then I love Fender! I had Pbasse, the Jazz ... And I love it!

on the other hand I'm a fan of Nathan East (who played with Eric Clapton among others) ... Mr East and is endorsed by Yamaha. And I remember a concert where Clapton played with a flamed orange yamaha!
And then a few days ago, I came across the super case: the same, lower model, at a price gun (less than 200 €) ... Having had a lot of basses: Fender, MM, Mayon, G & L. .. I could not find the bass that would satisfy me!
I say why not try? No sooner said ... And then I get this bass! At first sight look wonderful! (Well I saw the pictures!) But it is true in this beautiful flamed orange livery! Not too pretentious any bearing on this side "classy"!

The whole breathes the solid and the finish ... The violin is really the road ... In short pretty surprised I confess! Once I start playing it: surprise: after a journey of several hundred miles in a bag and board is granted! Surprising! *
Then the handle is very nice ... body resonates when you play ...
In short no black spot! Finally, if one must admit! Between the color of the front and rear, there is a visible demarcation between the two shades! (Front and back is flamed reveals the wood grain !)... Finally I say that given the range and that is the only black spot! And yet, the line is very light (look closely!) And above it on the edge of the lower ...

After this first test: Connect! And then a slap! And yes it sounds! lol
More seriously: I'm surprised! active electronics sends heavy and really gives roundness to the sound of bcp ... Really great! The humbuckers are very nice! It looks like a config jazz bass but without the buzz of classic single ... When you balance all the sound on the second microphone: just found the sound of the Jazz bass bridge pickup but more powerful.

What will change: there are 24 frets, but it poses no difficulty when exiting a PBass, or JB ... It's just better if we want to play a high G + + lol ... I confess that I was not a fan of solo, but that little makes you want to do solos, arpeggios in treble, etc ...


SOUNDS

Otherwise, use the sound is super versatile. " we can have slammed for playing mediate 'or smooth to play good old jazz! Otherwise a huge palette of sounds for Funk, Rock, POP ... In my group plays everything (Rock, Blues, Funk ...) so it is very useful too!
The settings are simple, but there is the need to have fun and adjust its sound without too much goes to the amp!
Simply put: no asset you have typed a sound enough mids, treble ... And with the asset, we find a more warm, bigger, with lots of bass: BBAAAAAAOOOOOOUUUUUMMMM ..
To slap: no problem: given the config microphones, no worries, and with electronics: a breeze!
For the rest: a bass that can be present in the knowledge to be discreet ... A little like Mike Porcaro (Toto): Present but discreet ...

In fact a bass made for those who play all (or nothing!) Finally bassists needing versatile bass, but with his character Me!
For me it's nickel! Finally a bass that gets within reach of the bass player and not the contrary! Of course it's not as typical a 7ender or Ibanez, but this bass is truly an asset to master the variety style, pop, rock ...

OVERALL OPINION

What can I say? And while I saw my preconceptions about this brand and its products! It's stupid sometimes as an "F" capitalized on a bass makes us crazy ...
I owned a Fender 68 (a loan of a few days!) And quite frankly it looks superb level, CA has an incredible charm but bof bof! Ben's arch is often "buzz" and more of the wood stick is used so often it cracks ...
I had 7ender, Squier (not bad ...), then also a lot of bass at "big" F
The only one besides me blueffée this is a yamaha Sandberg (but I have not yet won the lottery!) I tried it in stores.

I tried a bass that fully satisfies me, it's done!
Only drawback: it's a Yamaha! No kidding ... In fact I do not care: what matters is what I play, I give emotion rather than the brand of my bass! Another worry: it is no longer manufactured! So annoying if you break or other ... And still pretty rare for sale!
My idea today if I had more money, I would buy a BB more upscale, like a TRB ...
I understand better why a lot of great bass players play on a Yamaha!

In fact I find it unfortunate that Yam is not more low side ... It's really a great product!
I got it for really cheap, and seriously it is well worth every dollar I put in!
FYI: I do not have this low premium, it is really excellent! Finally after that is just my opinion ... But for a low at less than 200 €, it's really amazing!
Of course this is not a very expensive bass but yet it has a quality to rival some of us from mex or who you know!

+ = Sound, ease of adjustments, versatility, handle, look, color (+++, violin, hardware ...
- = Is a Yam! Rare because most manufactured, to shoot solo (lol) ...

The quality / price is "indecent" as a benefit for ridiculous prices! Of course I bought one tomorrow if I can!

I would say if you see one for sale, try to put aside your preconceptions about the brand if you're like me ... And go for it! After if you want to put 2 or 3000 € in a lower "high end" trying to pass a Yamaha ...
