By taking a look, especially there are 3 parts: The distortion, modulation (tremolo, vibrato, ...) and delays!
Then, looking more closely, we see a section Tone Modify a Compressor section, a threshold section and course reverb section with a possibility to increase or decrease reverbation 3 different ...
Pedal [foot] is on the right desired device.
A tuner is included plus a few other options.

PS: Lack Regrete dynamic settings ... It would have a preamp to fully enjoy the sounds (in particular distortions).

If this is to find how to turn the tuner, and use the pedal [foot], I did not need the manual to find me!
The usage is quite simple and is appreciateany!

SOUND QUALITY

Then! I begin by saying that this pedal is supposed to be specialized in distortions!
Out on this point, I find that when you have to play with a quality distortion one can only laugh at what to say! I appreciateany least in this pedal is the distortion!
I think what could possibly have been much better if there is a possibility y'avait dynamics settings (treble, middle, bass, gain ...). The solution would be (I think) to have a preamp, I do not avai when I used this pedal!
Yet the various effects that can be found (delay, reverb, tremolo, phaser, ...) are not so bad! Especially for low budget!
A big disappointment for the distortions that are either too acute, too [slobbering] (a kind of large "fuzz" all ugly) .. well I am committed person in this pedal ...

The distortions are superb and frankly not enough diversified (it turns especially around the rock / hard rock), especially when we know that this pedal is supposed to be specialized in distortions! The solution in my opinion, have a good preamp advantage of distortions, because there is no dynamic settings so did some unfortunate possibilities ...
The effects are rather réussient and good simplicity and feature (apart from lacking the dynamic settings) is good!

USE

Very easy to use, we can find what we want ... except for the modulation, I row death to find a sound that I like.
Distos are correct rather, not very extra-ordinary, the problem as the important product ds we breath a little boost, but for lgres distos, no problem my major point.
I find the modulation complicates rgler, but then I'm using almost I EVER (and then, I have that on the amp footswitch, which itself is on one knob)
Delay him, I was never served, but to be tested (curiosity), I can say that it is very simple.
The Rverbs are nice and quite prcises.
The pedal is quite impractical: the game is relatively short, and ncssaire pressure to enable or disable the effect seems rather randomized sometimes bustling at the slightest touch, or n cssitant the contrary sometimes to throw an anvil.
Wah is rather okay if used distos the crankset, but with distortion spare before crankset (front, because after it is no longer the level of exit cssaire a good distortion, less sacrificing precision of sound), it is properly despicable.
Octaves + and - above all sound too lctronique my taste.
The noise gate is rather effective against the natural background of intgres distos but he will have a tendency Videment eat much of sustain.
The compressor gives a very pleasant in agreements clean.
A big plus for the small simulator top left: it allows trsrussis cleans, really nice.
I can get my Ibanez RG team EMG for an acoustic lctro!

SOUND QUALITY

I use a Marshall MG100 and between an Ibanez RG370DX custome EMG (85-60), and I must say that my impressions are rather nuances ... some effects rvlent be of excellent quality other rather rotten.
Tip: be careful not to let the batteries too long, once the low battery indicator dclenche, the sound is a spitting ALTR appears in rear plan and it occurs a pulse of the blinking tmoins (trsdsagrable in rpt when the amps going strong)
It does not Drange while playing but ds that stands still is quickly unbearable.


NOTICE GLOBAL

In 3 years of use, I have to say that I served well, despite a few flaws prcits.
A big plus on the resistance I'm transported in poor conditions several times a month, frquement prter friends for their little concerts, and playing it like a brute, nothing moves, the knobs do not spit, everything still works as its out of the box.
Boss, what.

I bought this effects pedal long ago as I was on a budget and wanted a Wah, chorus, phaser, distortion, and pretty much everything in one box just to test out and experiment without breaking the bank.

I'm not a techie so I won't even try and explain the details. You can check out some of the other reviews for that.

UTILIZATION

General configuration/setup is simple enough. I'm someone that avoids reading manuals when possible, whether it's to learn how to use an effects pedal or how to play Monopoly. With that in mind, I was still able to get a lot out of this pedal.

SOUND QUALITY

I used my telecaster with it. I loved the fact that I was able to use an octaver, wah, harmony, etc with the expressive pedal along with a ton of other effects, but that I did so without paying much at all.

However, I will say many of the effects lacked in quality (which was to be expected). i.e. the coveted wah sounds nothing like a crybaby

OVERALL OPINION

Loved the price, loved all the capabilities, probably would've loved it more if I took the time needed to truly learn how to use all capabilities, but did not love the quality so much. However, for higher quality I'd expect to spend upwards of $400. All-in-all a good multieffects pedal for a beginner/intermediate musician.

UTILIZATION

Super simple to discover sounds, effects etc etc ....
I galley a little more to save my own patches, but it was also my ignorance of such tools.

Editing sounds is super simple: just turn the knobs.

There is a good sound we like, on file in the memory mode and shoo it's in the bag.

SOUND QUALITY

Distos and overdrives: frankly, it breaks no three-legged duck. MT2, Metal, Loud, Muff and Stack are cool (about 22 types, it hurts a little buttocks). The rest is crap! For the blues, you can stop reading this review.
The palm of the horror is undoubtedly to simulate DS-1 or how to gun down a legendary pedal!!

4 knobs drive (with a turbo limit), bottom, tone, level.

Modulations are against very successful. The beautiful chorus, flanger, phaser. The harmonizer is fairly simple to implement. A nice and tremolo effects that I did not know but that enchanted me (Uni-V, Rotary).
3 knobs rate, depth, level.

Of Delay's successful with 4 Possible to 0-125 400-2000 mms positions. An analog delay, Space Pan Pan well effective. A reverse effect is difficult to establish. Strangely designed in fact!
Tap and Hold function.
3 knobs setting time, feedback, level.

An expression pedal including Wah, Resonance (synth effect), octave (+ or - 1 octave).
Pedal stroke which is difficult to regulate.

I'm guitarist behind so it was placed in my multi Jackson RR and my Marshall.
But since I'm keyboardist, I use the end of the chain. So the terrible inefficiency distos ^ does not bother me anymore. And given the quality of the chorus, I am determined to keep it.
For effects, it's great. For distos is not gégé.

OVERALL OPINION

I utlise for 4 years and intends to keep it.

I mostly tried only pedals. This was my first multi-purpose.

Like its modulations, Delays and noise reduction.
I do not like his Overdrives (actually distos it goes again, but the OD are chi * r). I do not like either the memory latency mode (although I find that weaker than say my predecessors in the opinion). And worse I do not like being massacred happily pedal I worshiped: the DS1.

Yes, I would do this choice because even when it's still very good stuff I like. It is a good value for money (especially for editing sounds simple).

EDIT: also re-reading, I find myself with severe distos. I must say I have no amp (hip) for a long time .... You would not perhaps that I bought a good one and I redo a test.

This thing is very comprehensive if you have a basic setup like myself...No you can't use the 4 cable method as it has no loop...It can do everything else....

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use...Nothing but simple knobs that are clearly labeled...Plug and play...The manual is excellent and the presets give you a great start...Tweak from there....The sounds are just like the BOss pedals so I never understood why I don't see more of these around...

SOUND QUALITY

All my guit fiddles like this box....The OD boosts are excellent, there's compression that is ok, sound sculpting like a BBE, reverb that is passable, delay that is, well delay....There's also modulation that kinda sucks but I don't like chorus....

Overall, this thing is an all-in-one box that covers the ground of many BOSS pedals at a fraction of the cost....Worth every penny and built well to boot!

OVERALL OPINION

I like all the features....The OD Boost is nice...The reverbs are sufficient....They are all fine...If you have used Boss pedals before, that is the tone...For the price, you get a TON with this thing...

I don't like the fact that it has no loop...The 4 cable method would be nice with this...It also lacks usable midi...

This is a unit I don't use regularly but when I need something...It's an all-in-one BOSS pedal shop..

I'd buy again!

I found this little number on samedaymusic.com for $296. they gave me free 2-day shipping on my order, and it arrived in pristine condition.

I love the effects. that's exactly what it's for. its design is simple and relatively easy to figure out, so the learning curve is minimal. the quality of the sound is gorgeous. its got a noise gate built in (user adjustable) as well as a compressor/sustainer, so you can pretty easily make a $300 guitar sound like a $1300 guitar. tone modify is very subtle but noticeable, so your guitar still sounds like it should. i heard one guy complaining about the reverb being out of wack and not having a good, even setting, but i think the reverb is perfect for me. i had no trouble adjusting it to any level. the OD/DS is versatile and very nice. any type of distortion you want can be found here. modulation is nice, although i don't particularly care for some of the ones on the unit. i mainly use the flanger or chorus. delay is fantastic. you can set it to any delay mode, including reverse and tap. the control you have over the effects is right where it should be: in your hands and in good quality.

i love my me-50, but the memory modes are a little difficult to get right. it takes more tinkering than i'd like, but i prefer not to use these functions anyway and i think that most people don't care about it.

it's boss, so i know it's solid. i highly doubt it will break.

It's boss! it's all the boss effects! you'll save hundreds by getting this, and you know you'll get flawless quality. fall in love with playing guitar all over again and get this unit.

i LOVE this baby, it has a lot of distortion types to chose from, delay is really accurate, and it is perfect for me, i play industrial rock so i couldn`t ask for more

i dont like the switching delay (even though i never really use it) and it needs more outputs, everything else is perfect

it is awesome (i don't really have the balls to drop it, but it can take my kicks when i play so it's preety much everything i need

it's the second best thing that has ever happened to me

UK - £225

At last no more mounting my favorite Boss pedals on home-made pedal-boards with power supplies and leads all over the place... this unit has it all in one neat solid package.

I walked out of the store and thought I had finally the answer to all of my dreams as a live guitarist. After years of trying out patch-driven midi equiped over-the-top gizmos, I was sure this was the answer. All I wanted was a simple triple stomp-box backed up with a bit of technology to store my favorite patches/tuner etc.
But this unit has in my opinion serious flaws;-
There are two modes of operation....
1)"Memory Mode" where you can recall around 30 patches. These user-patches can store all of your desired tweaks including master levels/reverb/compressor and combinations of modulation, delay and distortion. Great so far. Only problem is you only select one patch at a time (i.e. you cannot have a modulation assigned to one pedal and a distortion to another and stamp on both pedals. Also as you change patches you get a slight delay, as per my 10 year old Boss SE-70, which is annoying enough to stop me using it live.
2) The other mode is "Manual Mode". Now this feels more like a live player's mode... you can use all three pedals simutaneously (e.g. O/D, Flange, Delay) and tweak global settings such as reverb & compressor. Fantastic - no delays in switching either....... BUT!..... no way to store these settings! BUGGER! My unit is only 2 days old and I am using Blu-Tac on every button to stick all of my manual mode settings so that I do not knock the buttons out of place!!!
My other gripe is power....
When I saw that the unit could be powered by 6 AA batteries I thought GREAT I will use re-chargebles. But for some reason they don't work - maybe the unit is very sensitive to voltage levels of NiMH (1.2V) batteries and only works on 1.5V Alkalines. This really p%^%^%ed me off as now I have to buy a PSU.



Quality is superb - this unit is as tough as nails and will outlive me!

What a shame it is so NEARLY there...but I still highly recommend it. My suggestions to Mr Boss for future improvements....
1) A save defaults mode for Manual Mode... and a "Lock" switch
2) A Midi port to back up patch changes to the "Memory Mode"
3) Design for re-chargeable batteries.

I got my wonderful BOSS ME-50 at one of the local store where I live. I was looking for that all wonderful effects proccessor that could do everything (for around 200 bucks). This thing only cost me $220, and to tell you the truth it was the the best $220 I've ever spent.

What do I like about this unit, what don't I! This thing is awesome! You can do almost anything with this, whether you're playing heavy metal rock or blues, it dosn't matter, you can do it. I was looking for a unit that did just about anything, and this puppy does everything but wash the dishes. The tone is absoluetly awesome (as with all BOSS products). But my favorite thing about it is ease of use. On most unit you have to scroll thru all those menus and by the time you get the sound you're looking for, you've forgotten what you were gonna play! But on this unit everything has an independant control knob. If you wanna change something, you just reach down and and turn the nob. It's as easier than turning on a washing machine (which can be difficult at some times ;0) but this is so simple to use compared to any other proccessor I've heard of. It's just like having single pedals(except to get as many pedal effects as this offers you would cost about $2000). It has three pedals, one for distortion (there are 11 differnt types), one for delay, and one for Flanger, Phaser, Chorus, Tremolo, Harmonist, and a bunch of other things. It also has a built in tuner and an expression pedal that has Wah, Voice, +1 octave, -1 octave, and a few other thngs. It's made of metal so it is extermely durrable, and it has an awesome warranty.

Um.....Uh....Well, It's blue, which isn't my favorite color. But other than that I sincerely cannot think of anything bad.

The unit is made of metal metal so it is very durrable, and it has a cool sprkley looking paint on it. The tone and sound quality are AWESOME. It doesn't get any better than this. It has this cool thing called COSM (which I have absolutely no idea what that stands for) which actually like, figures out which note it thinks your your going to play before you play it, so the sound quality is even better.

Bottom line, this is the best investment I have ever made. If your looking to find the best effect you can without bein' broke for 6 months (well, a year for me, darn McDonalds) then this is the one for you. Buy it, and you'll have no regrets.

I bought this unit in a local guitar shop for € 290,-, because I wanted a multi-effectsprocessor.

I like absolute everything about this thing! It has the ease of a whole row of stomp-boxes right at your feet!

I really don't like the wah.. Every effect in this thing is great, but after the 12th fret, the beautiful "wah" sound turns into SHIT. Can't even hear the wah's activated. It's a shame..

It's -like every Boss-reviewer sais- built like a rock. You can throw it off the Hilton and it won't break.. You can push it off the stairs (but DO make sure it looks like an accident, just in case) and it won't get a scratch..

This is a great multi-effectsprocessor for the people that don't wanna spend too much €/$/ and STILL want to buy something that is GOOD! I'm never gonna sell it!

I bought this unit at Mary's Music in Clarksville, TN for $295 tax included. I am an old rocker and I have all the Boss/Roland gear. I have extensive Boss pedals and a Roland 501 Space Echo. I got this unit to try out becaue I like the sound of Boss/Roland gear.

I recently got a gig with a blues band and I needed minor effects and I am trying the ME 50 to suit my needs. Let me say that I grew up on the Ventures and I have played every type of venue that exists. I purchased an 825 Leslie to use with my rig and I just couldn't see hauling the gear to a gig. All I wanted was some compression and some other minor effects to go with my ES135 and a Fender Concert Amp.

The unit operating in the manual mode only is certainly worth the money. The effects do really sound like the pedals and it doesn't discolor the sound of the amp. I have yet to change the settings in the Memory Mode but I must say this unit shows lots of promise.

The unit has rock solid construction, all metal. I am a fan of Roland and Boss gear and it stays true to the sound and response of the old gear. The sound quality is true to the original stuff.

I am convinced I can tweak this unit to suit my taste and conform to the sound of the original stuff. I highly recommend this unit to anyone. I have tried other multi-effects units but most of them discolor the tone of the amp, but not this one. It totally enhances the tone of the original setup.

I got my Boss ME-50 at guitar center for USD 299. It is a pretty decent price to pay for a great multi-effects gadget.

The best thing about the ME-50 is that the sound is not digital. It doesn't sound fake. You can get feedback sounds if you wanted to. I've been reading lots of reviews about the ME-50. The most common dislikes about it is the delay when switching to one effect to another. There is a quick second delay when the sound changes. I've been searching for a multi-effect pedal that doesn't have this type of switching dealay. I found none. All of them has a delay. If somebody could find a multi-effects gadget without that switching delay, please email me.

What I dislike about this gadget is that it need a separate footswitch when using the memory.

The contruction of the ME-50 is pretty durable. The body is made of metal.

The ME-50 is a great gadget if you want the pure and raw sound of guitar effects.
