there is a PC editor paid (sound Tower) ... and fortunately saw the ergonomics of the machine! And again, it is not very practical.
There's Midi IN and OUT, fortunately also because it is not the aves 2 programmable switches unfortunate we get to manage all this stuff for chanegr sounds en route. Moreover, many users the couple to a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controllers via twelve o'clock to set galleys. This is the only way to exploit the bacanne live. Not looking, I tried, it did not and I marce heavy for the FCB1010 Roland FC300 that I use today controller something else.
UTILIZATION
The ergonomics of the machine is a bit special but quickly found his bearings about editing sound itself.
However the programming of rhythm is a real shit and is the prehistory with its systems and grid of LEDs on the abscissa and the ordinate, it's like back in the days of drum machines of the 80s. I do not how little voice easily program this function without the software publisher. Roger Linn was tell me that this function was reduced to the essential ... it's really exaggerated. Those who look forward to the idea of making fools of patches with arpégiatteur may be wary, editing of this effect using the same matrix as editing rhythms and the galley hello.
SOUND QUALITY
Synchronized effects are interesting, we do mumuse with time but given the complexity of programming (especially arpégiatteurs), allowed to fall soon ... and their usefulness is quite random. There are sounds interesting find anyway. It's a hacker Bécanne of course but ... it's really inconvenient to use.
The reverb is zero, really!
The compressor is absolutely useless and produces a pumping effect on a disgusting low.
The stereo effect of each effect is adjustable .. Finally, if you will, as soon as one is in stereo, it was a ping pong left right on the chorus and the time is left, incomprehensible.
The drum sounds are nice, warm enough and have the advantage of not being thus avoiding too many to be shit to exlorer endless banks of sounds on a computer. I concocted a few anyway electoral drumbeat that had the mouth ... phew!
As for tube amp emulations, to stop the crap we heard much better on a line 6 Pod 1st generation ... almost 10 years ago. It's cold, aggressive, not at all realistic (take a simulated AC30, so here's a AC30 sound, I am a priest). As for the dynanmique own tube amp at any self-respecting by adjusting his game, it is absolutely not respected. It sounds really ELECTRONICS low end. Remain the fender amp emulations that are doing quite well as well as bass amp. Anyway, even with a consience Bécanne this price can not work miracles ... the sound quality is really limited and I doubt that the Bécanne rix of similar fare better.
Worst of all, it is likely the internal build quality is poor, an electronic noise is always present, and switches produce plays RECALLING the effect of microphonics on a skyscraper which is poorly shielded electronics. Impossible to clean with a recording here. Shame!
Roger Linn Design is a small box, here smacks of artisan (who at least has the merit that his boss to answer you personally with any questions) but I do not know where they are manufactured here ...
OVERALL OPINION
Tired of the home PC: I was looking for a versatile Bécanne to do everything so as to accompany me to play rhythm in bars. I found the mixed side drum machine emulator + Amp interesting: direct console and hop. But then, the concept of the machine but it is all to do the kind of machine that is supposed to do everything at once but that hurts. Either it is sold and known for its effects as for its amp simulations and BAR but why in this case to as many functions in a box if it is to have a sound quality so sloppy?
Bought 300 euros in October 2008 from Thomann, I found the money RAPORT honorable before connecting. But it served a month and half ago, in the closet and then sold mid January, shoo! This product is not worth over 150 euros, it's really the stuff of beginner who has never played on a real tube amp ... Guitar Rig or used PC!
I should have to try it before buying it, we did not find that version 2 in France when I bought it. It will take me no more.
After this unfortunate experience, I began to Macbook, Ableton Live, Guitar Rig, of course, is not the same budget but here at least it provides!
