Instructions: French incomprehensible places, gross errors, but with a little experience, is corrected. Reading is nevertheless essential unless you want to try the machine quickly without headache (but then, difficult to give a serious opinion).
Some supplements compared to what I've read in some reviews (and I do not ride for Yamaha!)
    - The "Manual" mode (dedicated switch) allows the settings of all parameters visually with the buttons (pins 1-10 on housing + digital display in the screen, without going through the set points recorded in patches This is the real manual!) can therefore from a neutral base its no effect, all pots to 5, and invest the different parameters of amp types, effects, simulations of HP, etc ... ), then save without going through the patches recorded. We can also compare the recorded with the modified with the switch to "manual", very convenient patch patch.
    - No need to stoop to balance the volumes between patches Saturated and clear with the pots, the machine saves the volumes and the gain for each patch. (The knob of overall output level is to be paid once and for all based on the input of the amplifier used).
    - In "patches" fashion buttons for adjusting the various parameters "fixed value" function is essential to read the stored values of the patch before editing (just make a round-trip knob to release the setting)
    - I have not been faced with a procedure requiring the simultaneous mobilization of 2 hands to adjust effects,
    - The procedure for selecting a patch number with swithes foot is a bit complicated (there are support to meet time), but by reading the manual 6 times, we end up not master the cha-cha-cha ; control by MIDI pedal is much more convenient.
    - Automatic tuner is accurate and efficient (5 LED + LED switch the patch that turns the proper tuning), I compared my good tuner Zen-ON needle
    - Except guitar hum, no need Gate because the machine is totally free breathing and background noise, even in saturated within search settings against nature sounds.

    SOUND QUALITY

    1. Fender Strat + U.S. in effect itself connected in front in Laney LC15 tube amp simulator HP disabled
Styles: Rock, Pop, preferably sounds rather clean
Clear sound: 1 Clean, wide, deep, clear, rich, good ratings parts, wide frequency band, but the corollary is a lack of attack and body, and it is not the compressor can be sth.
    - Clean 2 more acute, great for funky styles.
    - Crunch, overdrive, lead: realistic solo better with time, even if it can not compete with their lamps pushed into a corner; the crunch is the best, with the gain to 10, beautiful body attack and dynamics. on the other hand avoid playing chords more than 3 notes, it becomes clutter.
    Effects:
    - I confirm the compressor is not good, even metered light, sound is back, tarnished instead of being boosted, no attack, no body, less dynamic; there is a slight delay, probably due to the time analog-digital-analog conversion not good enough.
    - The rest is pretty basic, but the simplicity is significant; modulations are average, the "rotary" is very successful (typical intro "The South" Nino Ferrer, it speaks to you?).
Stomp activated 2 In studio amp simulator HP DG.:
The cleans, as the guitar amp in front, lack of attack and body, no potatoes, and the compressor makes the situation worse!
If you want a rich acoustic guitar sound with deep bass and clear effects is excellent (with honors for "Rotary"). The funky style "Clean 2" is excellent.
Saturated sounds, it's not bad but it lacks definition, it is a little mess.

    OVERALL OPINION

I tested it for 8 days, with all the time, I hesitated, then went to the colleague who had lent me for any purchase of 80 € occasion, because I will use it occasionally .
It is a robust and reliable device, which can be of great service with his MiDi function, well-studied features and sounds that may be of interest according to the music we play and the use made; and as always, according to the devices to which it is associated, a machine can be excellent or disappointing, is what explains the eternal quest for the Grail guitarist, who spends his life searching for a new little magic boiboite. .. and it's also what it says in the new factory every day by millions!
To return to the DG Stomp, at this price, this is an excellent deal for traveling light and have different sounds; and if you do want more, you can sell it without big discount!

The amp models are top, nickel effects, and the 'distortion' I love it! Distortion in a good lead, a lot of gain, precise ... I would not put the next to the Metal zone but not far! A nice crunch, and sounds clear, really clear!

Patch level and all the good this is a bit hard ... Personally I turned on one, the other is not accessible at the foot ... But we are doing very well! He is sorely lacking for distos switch ... Can not be used to 'distortion pedal, it's either you have a song while distortion, or not! Can damage a shot of ... Whatever happens though barefoot on the knob chopper! But on stage it's a different story! (I play metal, the blow must be careful to rangeos singer: D)

    SOUND QUALITY

Ben quality level I do not think I can put 9/10 ... This is a 10!
The effects were well configurable clear, we guessed it by ear this was a Flanger and Phaser or not a Rotary ... The reverbs are nice too, I always stay on the Spring because it is simply one that rang with a nickel distortion! : D

    OVERALL OPINION

6 years doing it, I sell it now because I want to find something else, but it is on if I want a multi purpose one of these four, I apportion it without worries! What a great value! :)

I try a boss only a few hours, I do not recall the name more but I recall the head and it was a lot, but much less than the usable! To change this effect was already a gas factory!

I think its simplicity is a big advantage that one can balance with its incredible weight ... Ben yep, a scrap beast while you feel the way! :) on the other hand it does not smell your shoes 2.5KG press the switches! Puts you in a Circle pit environments and the spring in one piece, ready to begin! : D

You are looking for a critter simple, versatile, sturdy, effective with high quality? Ben rushes! Benefits there still have some! parties that do pearls! : D

    SOUND QUALITY

Apart from the compressor that I've never been able to resolve satisfactorily the sounds are good, especially the amp models are very natural.

    OVERALL OPINION

I hated that thing, but the amp sounds offered me have bought the amp DG60 hello there and it is really killer.
So I summarizes the dgstomp as unreliable, very galley and pay very little practice in the end. Fifty roros Max okaz, and if it works, I guess.
    I almost slammed new 700 ..

I was looking for something to replace my Digitech RP-7. The RP-7 is OK but it's harder to program. I also fell for the fact that it has a tube in it, thinking that would help get a tube distortion. Sorry, but it really doesn't help much.

Great sounds, ease of use, just turn the knobs to adjust sounds and effects levels. Doesn't get any easier. The only thing I don't like ie the tuner. It's tough for me to use it but maybe it's just me. The tuner on my RP-7 is a lot better. Maybe I'll keep it just for that but I doubt if I'll be using it for effects now that I have the Stomp.

Steel box and mettal switches not plastic pads to step on. Should last a long time. I take care of my stuff. Also, I bought a wood music stand and keep the stomp at arms length away instead of on the floor. It's a lot easier to tweak this way, even while playing.

It's the best sounding, for my tastes, multi-effects box that I have found yet. I've checked out a whole bunch of them too. Digitech, Zoom, Korg.....None are as nice as this one. I really do love this thing!

Mars Music, $299. I was looking for a good travel amp.

To me, one of the best things about the DG-Stomp is the flexibility of this unit. IMHO, this little unit the best backup system yet... Here's why:
    - You can use it standalone as a preamp (which really sounds pretty darn good) into an amp, or click the speaker simulator on to go direct to the board (if your amp croaks)
    - You can turn the preamp off and just use it as an effect stomp box (if your effects croak)
    - You can use it as a midi pedal (if your midi pedal croaks)
    - You can use just the speaker simulator (in case you forget your SM-57)

    - If you are direct to the board all the time, you can control the speaker simulator by program, so you can turn it off for super shimmery or weird sounds, or for an acoustic.
So, do you see what I mean? For something this small and cheap, this is the best little thing out there for the gigging musician!
This thing even does midi mapping, and can send and recieve CC changes. DAMN!
Very well constructed (metal, not cheap plastic). Buttons are the sturdy switch type. I have no fear of this puppy breaking down.

What is it missing? Noise Gate (for the places with relly bad power/RF). But hey, it is 299 bucks and your guitar has a volume knob. Use it.

Solid as a Mac Truck. Great switches, and the thing is METAL.

One of the best values on the market. Great sounds, portability, and flexibility personified. And no I don't work for Yamaha.

Purchased from Ebay used for $225. Bought to provide recording & stage processing for guitar.

I've tried a whole string of preamp and guitar efx processors over the past year. New units from Line6, Korg, Zoom, Digitech, and the Yamaha DG Stomp came out on top of the heap. What I was looking for was a real tube-sounding efx unit that I could use much like an analog efx unit, and manually tweak the efx and controls in real time. I dumped all of them except for the DG Stomp. It has the most realistic and usuable tones and efx out of the bunch, including the Pod. What I was looking for was a real tube-sounding efx unit that I could use much like an analog efx unit, and manually tweak the efx and controls in real time. I dumped all of them except for the DG Stomp. It has the most realistic and usuable tones and efx out of the bunch, including the Pod. Easy to use in real-time mode, you can turn on/off the modulation efx (flange, phase, rotary speaker), echo/delay, and reverbs, and program the foot switches for that purpose. The rotary knob allows you to select a wide variety of tube preamp tones, from very clean and spacious to outrageous metal gain. Those settings are also completely adjustable with the range of volume and tone controls on the preamp side. It also has a speaker simulator with a lot of speaker settings, but I tend to leave it on 1 setting for most everything. The overal sounds that come out of this box are real sounding, and not overly processed. If I had to, I could get away with just using the DG Stomp for recording sessions with nothing else. However, I do use an old DBX119 compressor/expander to eliminate the noise that comes from the DG Stomp (there is no noise gate), and I also use a Line6 DM4 Distortion Modeler footpedal to set up 3 preset levels of gain as well for convenience. The Stomp is built like a tank, and I've kept it and plan on keeping it where all the other units I tested I got rid of a few days later. The Stomp is a keeper.

No noise gate or noise reduction built-in but as mentioned I use an old DBX119 to get rid of the noise and unlike a noise gate it doesn't shut off the tail of a signal. I would expect that a Hush unit would work petty good as well. There is a website that discusses how to modify the Stomp to get rid of the internal noise floor (mostly present when the high-gain preamp settings are selected), and this involves removing all of the PCB board screws and isolating the grounding of the board but I haven't tried this method.

Super heavy duty, you could throw it off a roof and it would probably be ok.

Great preamp and efx unit, both on headphones (use the spkr simulator) and into an amp (turn off the spkr simulator). Sparkling tones, realistic efx, I love it.

    UTILIZATION

All parameters are accessible via simple knob.
    Editing is simple.
    The backup is simple.
The manual is incomprehensible (it looks like translated from Japanese to English and retranslated into French) of the wrong word for word.
Fortunately I understand English and English manual is perfect.

    SOUND QUALITY

This is the highlight of this device.
The simulations are incredible and it looks like the real amp.
The equalizer is dramatic and it changes everything by turning the buttons!
The reverb is majestic. Not invasive.
Delays and tap tempo very effective.
The simulation of HP has 2 or 3 very fine adjustments.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for only 10 days and I am delighted.
To access the settings as a amp is obviously very simple.
    The simulations are also extra-effects.
Only regret the external power supply that could be integrated into French record zero points.
The weight is therefore more stable and make it forces me to wear.
A purchase that I do not regret it! far from it.
(I tried the POD2 and sounds are much worse in my opinion)

Usage is fairly simple, a little laborious to beginners, but with all the presets is fast even when rgl, the manual is clear trs, but not the strong point of the machine, the buttons are not postion trs well Conua

    SOUND QUALITY

I love the clean sounds, great, allows the legalization of all, it's a big Russianness, trs prcis.
I like the simulations, the distos they really make the difference, and they are behind the quality of clean sounds, so big satisfaction.
distos for me, I use especially with the gain back in lead, so diffcile to be objective, but the agreement r dg stomp hard while I use it with my guitar and my bass rg270ibanez, mdiator playing (to play with the fingers I use a DI, but I could do without)
effects rglages trs low color perfectly sound, I have Full Control on my sound, I had not before, but when asked the same job on this machine.
I hate the trmolo, like all multi effects, the compressor is brutal, too, as on all multi-effect guitar, the other EFET are excellent, chorus and rotary head in (the rotary blood run cold! )

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months, I love its clean and versatile, I do not like the location of the buttons (you have to let go of your checks scratch amp simulator!) I tried the zoom GM200 before that bote is a small, cheap and surprisingly good trs on distos, but on the quality and sharpness of the dgstomp crasis.
The report price is trs good quality, I think, given the quality of sound achieved, I would do without this choice hsiter (I found occas € 200!) Used you can go there without risk, bote mtallique trs robust.

Typical product ... Just a reminder:

Amp simulation, compressor, modulation section (chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, leslie), delay (delay, tape echo), reverb (spring, hall, plate), simulation of HP.

Variable impedance input, stereo outputs and headphone output digital coax.

MIDI for remote control and download the "bulk" of containing sysex programs. No editing software, and against it is very bad for the Yamaha.

Tuner that is so useless that I wonder whether to grant him "deserves to exist" ...

Design very strong, with real footswitches.

    UTILIZATION

The ergonomics are completely honest with the principle of returning the original value of the preset knobs. I would have preferred coders associated with LEDs, as the Behringer (see V-Amp and all its variations), but ... This display three segments, so it's very blah.

Manuel laughable errors in his stuffed French side: to save is the STORE need support, not DOWN ... Grrr ...

A rotator was convenient to select the different simulations of HP.
Other than that, not rocket science, turn buttons, and playing. Much better than some I knew Boss effects.

on the other hand, only three sounds in each bank is limited ...

    SOUND QUALITY

The amp simulation is very good. Yamaha, unlike its competitors in the field of modeling, does not make the mistake of associating its simulations of legendary amps. It prevents their return-customers like "your Plexi not sound like the real" (let's be honest, who has heard a Plexi closely enough to take that kind of talk?).

Overall, it works very well, with clear transparent sound, the warm crunch that grow to look for the words "Valve Inside" on the box, and very versatile distos between the rhythmic sounds very thick to Megadeth and many more things sharp (thank you control of Presence). Again, the simulator HP does the job, without genius, but effectively.

I use it with several guitars, and for me the best proof of quality is that the preamp respects the sound of the instrument, including a high sensitivity microphones used.

In terms of effects, most of them are very convincing (reverbs, delay, chorus, flanger, phaser), but others give in the bidding: the tape-echo is not worth a real one, the tremolo is abominable, and compressor is frankly stiff. Note, that makes it ideal for tapping into the clear ...

Final note: some presets are really bluffing (imitation of Santana is very well made), but the vast majority of factory sounds are drowned under the effects.

    OVERALL OPINION

I recently bought the DG-Stomp used, after ordering a rack Behringer V-Amp Pro that is slow to arrive.

I love the portable format, the strength and versatility of this pedal, so I think the Yamaha is an excellent complement to the Behringer, which will be less prone to transport.

At a tad more than € 250 for a machine in its original box with instructions and 3 months warranty, I think I made a deal. I think I would do this choice.

I finished recording a self produced album with the CEO for guitars and stomp a AW 2816 for recording (I do not work in yamaha) and I'm happy or trs happy rsultat di!

Trs a good choice for an amp simulator. I tried other simulators (Vox ToneLab and ToneLab SE, line6 pod xt ..) and I find it the height or more prcis ... So n'hsitez Figure!

nlike a previous opinion, I think the tuner is still usable and practical to be constantly within reach of a foot (or hand). As against the stage in the dark or with a spot in the eye, it becomes difficult to use!

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound is really nickel and varied. the effects are more than enough for one set on stage. And in the studio anyway better record without. Anyway for me it's more than a pre-amp multi-purpose, and that's what I love! The grain of the guitar is respected, even that of electro!

My only repproche is that simulations of clean sounds are really low in volume compared to the distorted sounds. It is realistic, but a shame, because it requires to balance the sounds set the stage for much lower volume of heavy distortion.

    OVERALL OPINION

In summary: camera, reliable, sturdy, easy to carry, stable on stage, not a hair out of breath, and it always happens to be his research. And sufficient practical effects for the stage. Ideal for those looking for bigger and more beautiful sound than the electronic gadget. A good preamp rather than a multi-purpose. Look cool.

The settings are ergonomic, you rule and we play together, and then record when it suits us.
The manual is simplistic, and that's good.
We can really concentrate on the sound rather than the use of the device.

    SOUND QUALITY

Personally, I use it mainly for the effects chorus, tremolo and delay. I turned off the preamp, and simulation of HP for maximum transparency, but we feel it is still, the sound seems slightly flattened, but nothing dramatic!
The refinished is good for my taste, I use it instead of reverb on my amp, so it's okay!
I tried to connect the input preamp and insert effect, the second solution I used, the effects are better applied.
Note that I used with a Peavey Classic 30 amp with a Fender Start Deluxe US.
First, there is little wind or not at all! (Important to my ears)
The compressor is inefficient (at least in my configuration).
I tried the preamp, but we feel that there is no lamp in the honky-tonk! The light is not too bad, though highly colored and distos sound too "Bzzzzzzzz" for my taste. I use the peavey distortion, which is much better.
I have not tried to exploit it to the recording studio, but apparently the headphone, the simulator HPs plays its part.
The effects are well made, even the tremolo, which, however, criticized, I think do a good job if not to pair it with the reverb (or very little)!
The delay is perfect for me and tap tempo can be used without worry.

Only the selection at the bottom is a bit tedious to switch to another group (group 3).

    OVERALL OPINION

    For about ten days.
I regret the compressor ineffective, I will have to add a boost pedal input, other than that, as I only use a few effects, it served its purpose and is suitable for my use.
I also like that robust design, perceived quality is very good, the knobs inspire confidence, only the selection buttons Effes are a bit "cheap", and one wonders how long they will take ...

I had previously multi-effects "low end": Korg A5 Zoom 505, which generate the breath, with little effect, slightly adjustable, cheap buttons imprecise or let go en route.
With the DG-Stomp is still going on in the superior court at all levels!

Is used between 150 and 170 € is a good investment, but I do not buy it new at over € 300.

I think I would do this election if I have no problem with (if the buttons "cheap" are ultimately strong enough!)

    The manual is highly recommended.

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound quality of some pramp. Excellent my taste. I made an album with studio and I could compare it with the pod and it did not make the weight. The saturations are smashing trs. As against the effects are bad, we are far from home products B ***, the compressor is too steep, difficult rgler modulation, chorus trs is ugly. The top dlais monos but not happening. The reverb I do not know because I do not like a. A noise gate could not t the superfluous because the background noise is too lev.
But I put 9 / 10 for pramp / trs simulation that are good.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have been using 5 / 6 years and despite its many default I like him he can give the "big sound". I think even when my next purchase will be a VOX Tonelab. The report is qualitprix trs good in gnral at Yamaha, the DG Stomp is a solid and musical.
