B.C. Rich Bich SE BaritonePublished on 03/04/12 at 22:46
This Bich SE Baritone guitar from BC Rich has a Nato wood body, bolt on maple neck with 30" scale, ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets and diamond inlays. It has a BC Rich brand BDSM humbucker, chrome hardware, a tuneamatic Gibson style bridge which is strung through the body. 1 volume knob and 1 tone knob completes the picture.

    UTILIZATION

This guitar was meant purely for low end chugging power riffs. To that end, it succeeds. It has a nice, sleek look to it, and the simplicity is very cool. I like single pickup, single purpose instruments - the designers have an end goal in mind and usually achieve it. The neck plays well, but feels like a bass in length. This will throw off anyo…

This will throw off anyone with shorter arms. Balance is a touch neck heavy, too. One thing that's very weird is that the strings don't want to bend on this guitar due to the scale - that's something any lead guitarist should know off the bat.

    SOUNDS

The pickup sounds good. It holds a lot of power and definition - the notes rip through the speaker like clear bells from hell. No matter how complex the chord is, how dense, each note rings out. This is a great thing on an axe like this. The guitar is incredible for doom, sludge, stoner, death, tech, and djent stylings.

    OVERALL OPINION

This is a cool axe, for sure. Limited in scope, at least it knows what it wants - to MELT FACES. If you like to play huge, crushing metal riffs in the deepest depths, this guitar is worth a look. The quality is great for the price, and you're not going to find another single pickup 30 inch scale 6 string out there. Plus, the classic yet menacing Bich design is super cool!

    It is Made in Korea.
24 cases a single micro acute passive (BC Rich), the volume knobs and tone that go with it.
    The bridge is fixed.
A simple setup nothing to add.

    UTILIZATION

I do not know much about the handles of BC Rich but in any case, it is nice to play a guitar in this price range. Obviously, it takes some getting used to a length as large (not far from a low ...). Indeed, this guitar is a baritone whose pitch is still longer than the baritone 'standards'.
Access to acute is done without difficulty.
As for weight, this guitar is light in spite of appearances, but I do not know if this reflects a guarantee of quality ;-)

For sound, this guitar is more suited for all or nothing then one and two micro-bottomed pot. In any case, we will not do in the fine ...

    SOUNDS

It suits my style of music, I play metal mixed with electronic music. My guitar playing is oriented trash / death. I needed an instrument that can go down into the tones. As I am rather rhythm, the seven strings do not really care: 6-string: it is already sufficient.
I play on a Randall RG75. I avoid the effects: Simplicity = efficiency. But I have my good old GT5 when I want to toy.
In sound: with Randall, it's cutting dry. The output level of the microphone is high, it saturates already clear sound. So it's obviously not a guitar made for that.
on the other hand, it blows serious ... Randall already purring on the origin, with the microphone, it gets worse. Who wants to add the effects you need to take that breath. Anyway, I am satisfied with the sound j'obtient with my config. It's very aggressive.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months. I got in a famous German online shop :-)
Super promo, I paid 200 euros. I emphasize that I use this guitar from time to time when the songs I play require down low. So I recommend this guitar as a complement but everyone is free to do what he wants. The length of the handle is confusing at first. What is funny, when you replay your guitar 'normal', you feel to play on a 3 / 4! It is also a good way to work the spacings. For now, I'm happy. It is important not too much to ask at the finish but it is very proper for players not too demanding. I have unfortunately not been able to really compare them before my purchase but the price is unbeatable.
