The 27" extended-scale fingerboard is deszigned to provide playability while eliminating muddiness that is usually associated with these types of instruments. The new A80 humbucking pickups ares said to be “crisp and clear, ” providing a “low-end crunch that 8-string ERGs are designed for.”
Standard features include an alder body and maple neck, ebony fingerboard with white dots, chrome hardware, and a new fixed bridge with strings fed through the body. Like other Custom Shop instruments, you can design your DC800 the way you want it, by choosing from various options, including body/neck woods, top woods, finishes, fingerboard woods, inlays, fretwire and more.
The DC800 is made in the USA. For Carvin’s 65th Anniversary, you can take advantage of a $100 Instant Rebate, an extra $100 off your selection of Custom Shop options, and a free standard case.

JohnFredCNew AFfiliatePosted on 11/02/2011 at 16:58:10Nice, but should have been offered with fanned frets. I have two fanned fret instruments of this scale length and would never go back to parallel frets. Fanned frets are more comfortable to play AND offer more balanced tone.
