The new fingerboards developed by Fender could become a standard in the near future, with the extension of equipped instruments.
At the beginning of the year, Fender introduced a new “channel bound” design for its necks. The fingerboard is now encased into the neck and not laminated on it. This new designs adds more comfort and resonance between the neck and the fingerboard, according to Fender.
Fender introduced this new “channel bound” design with two Select Series guitars (a Jazzmaster and a Stratocaster), but there are now 14 Select Series guitars and bass available with this new neck. Visit www.fender.com/series/fender-select/ to see the list of available instruments.
