With a Cirklon, which is the copy of the step sequencer to the TR 808/909 (real killing this thing), I was looking for a small expander drum, but with a good MIDI and implementation multitimbral all easy programming and use.
some flaws all the same: no internal power supply, a somewhat low headphone output and only 2 separate outputs ... no USB either.
Yet it is simple, this small northern drum is FINALLY what I was looking for years, approx 400 slot Kits 6 sounds, you can play on the pitch, filter the noise, the gate, the delay for each share real-time ... in short, the ideal within my use
lightweight, simple interface, real-time controls, make a small weapon of war with a good sequencer.
disadvantage: 2 separate outputs, the output level is not really too short exceptional. I have much preferred to have 6 separate outputs rather than having CV inputs, but at the same time the choice is quite logical from clavia
A very good machine, little known, really hand, but expensive ... whatever for 6 x 1 mono, it is not bad at all.
the question is: in February 2014 the new arrival elektron drum analog and aira Roland ... it will look really closely the price of this small clavia, as it may fall into nine.
this small northern drum, Verily gives me a good impression, yet spent on TR, R8, MPC and some other stuff that make drums, drum north is an excellent compromise between the quality of its offer, the small size, and price.
I confess that my MR Rack with card dance, still above all that exists (personal opinion) and my S6000 sampler keeps a special little place to complete some drums sounds useful but really it north drum 2 is damn.
Mr Clavia: some real time for each lane pots, a small step integrated sequencer and separate hop and outputs, the card provided.
