The Alesis Master control is an audio interface that can give you up to 192 kHz recording. It does also have low latency with the fire wire connection. It has two microphone inputs and each one of those inputs has phantom power for your condenser microphones. It also comes with a copy of Cubase LE, Cubase is one of my favorite interfaces, so if you are just getting into music or you have been into music for a while , you can appreciate Cubase and it’s a wonder software to have with this interface because everything just works right away and causes no problems. If you don’t want to use it in Cubase that is fine, it will work in almost any DAW that is out today. With its Expandable inputs and 2 banks with assignable buttons, the Alesis Master control is really a no “brainer” if you have the money to buy it. The Alesis Master Control is not a cheap interface though, it will cost you some money!


UTILIZATION

Very close to zero latency and from my experience or from what I can remember I haven’t had a driver update yet. They did say they were releasing one though but I never got it and haven’t needed it.


GETTING STARTED

We have experienced 0 compatibility issues while we were using the Alesis Master Control. All of the configuration was very simple and the setup was pretty quick and painless.


OVERALL OPINION

Bad thing about the Alesis Master control is the price, it is not cheap and if you are just starting out you might not want to get this far in (money wise). There are better interfaces to start with that will cost a lot less. But if you can afford to then by all means go for it! You will love everything about the Alesis Master control. All of the faders are also motorized.

For the moment I have no surprises in Windows, I'll soon test the driver under OSX 10.6 ...

It's been just over three months I have this card and I am very satisfied for the moment, the value for money I think is very interesting ...

I do it again this purchase without problems, since in addition it can be found is less than € 900!

the cot while a motivated my choice
I am working with a pc, asus motherboard with a quad core processor and 32 bit xp 4g ram stroke
I have a useful pro (I produced music for voice and radio advertising)

UTILIZATION

the drivers are stable, I tt t on the site to get the latest version, but the DVD drivers were already stable!
I use it with cubase 5, cot number of tracks I do not t the end of the possibilities of bte!
latency more than respectable! (Compared to my previous interface "motu ultralite") limit is better!

relativment simple installation, configuration very easy, no problem of compatibility with the following hardware (quad uad2, novation remote sl)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several days.
I have tried many interfaces before (Terratec Alesis, TC Electronic, motu ...)
I love the most: the faders motoriss, the simplicity "ultimate" package (with cubase anyway), and weight (it's not something plastic and feels! !)

for now I would do the choice (a view of the length, I sometimes had to disillusionment with Alesis "Multimix firewire)

it's a bit expensive, in absolute terms but a good interface + good control, was relatively the same price in the end.
I've decided sells the motu!

What motivated my choice?
8 inputs including 2 mics.
All that can control Cubase.

I used to record and mix, I am more used to mix the potentiometer which is more sensitive than the mouse ...

No problems with drivers (on an Apple computer).

The setup is fairly easy, we must concentrate.

For 3 months.
The quality / price is very good.
We have the equipment quickly in hand and construction seems solid.

I own the Alesis MasterControl for 6 months and waiting to have stable drivers for Windows 7 64 issue an opinion, and it seems that this is the case with the grind [v3.5.3.8671]. Before it was the cat and the equipment was inoperable (blue screens, loss of audio ...).
My choice was oriented on this material because I found it very full for the price to compete in more scalable and ADAT. I realized my plans on Edirol FA 101 and I was eager to have automated faders for automation. I use it in a home studio with a digital piano bass guitar and folk elec ...
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the machine and its ease of use.
I use a laptop asus core 2 duo 8600 Windows 7 64 and gauze it pretty even with loaded projects.

UTILIZATION

The new drivers seem stable. I observed a loss of audio sync with my SPDIF digital piano but it can come to my cable is not very fresh ....
I use Cubase 5 and observe a low latency on my config with projects from 5 to 8 tracks.

GETTING STARTED

Installation is super simple and the table is easy to configure and I have not needed the manual.
I'm having a little problem when my piano is in brach SPDIF and Firewire sync has not been established with the PC, the sound crackles with donf (in standalone mixer).

OVERALL OPINION

I've had six months but I use it thoroughly for three days (because of previous drivers that did not work). I had the opportunity to test the tascam and the motu and I edirol this machine is very well placed. The preamp input without being exceptional are nicer and warmer than the F 101.
I found this great table and not very expensive products meet equivalent.
