Dave Smith Instruments introduces at Summer NAMM 2014 the DSM01 Curtis Filter for the Eurorack modular systems.
The DSM01 Curtis Filter is based on the filter designed by late Doug Curtis, that Dave Smith used on many of his synths, including the Prophet 5 and Pro One, the Evolver, Mopho, Prophet 08 and 12.
The 8HP module includes a VCA and 2/4 pole low-pass filter with switchable 12 or 24dB/octave. The filter frequency and resonance can also be voltage controlled via dedicated inputs and Dave Smith included a Boost feature that adds harmonic distortion to the signal for more aggressive coloration.
2 outputs are available for the filter, one is pre- and the other post-VCA.
The DSM01 Curtis Filter will be available August with a price announced at $179. More info at davesmithinstruments.com.
