Published on 11/25/12 at 22:30This is the only way to 8 inputs / outputs to run pro tools 8 on a G5 that has motivated my choice, I use an analog console with 16 tracks, and I used to record (voice, bass , guitars, synths, sound effects and mix externally), I use an external preamp, I am not using the internal preamps.
UTILIZATION
I am using the card only for Pro Tools.
Firewire tends to lose the connection with the card, it happened to me only mix at a rate of once per session, I can record 8 tracks simultaneously, and I must have sessions that run over 30 tracks .
GETTING STARTED
Installed without a problem, very simple configuration, and no incompatibilié
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 1 year and a half, I'm working on a Pro Tools HD system at work and DIGI 002 converters that are soft and do not transcribe the feeling that I have taken, I know that the result will not the pitch when shooting, what I like most is the 2 track controls, mute and mono.
Bypassing prémps and converters, this card can only run older versions of Pro Tools.
I would do this choice under the constraint of an old Pro tools ...
