There's everything you need in e / s for a small home studio, even if more than two physical inputs have not seen tons of refuse that I have nothing to use the spdif.

UTILIZATION
No problem installing, be it on XP Self-powered via firewire with my round (TI chipset, as prconis or Vista with my laptop in 4-pin (Dell Vostro 1510, chipset?) . I have a friend with same test on his macbook, of course no problemo.
Parc software that came with a little anecdote (or light versions of dmo) dj nice but probably for beginners.
GETTING STARTED
Stable drivers, there's also a new version last month. I use Live and Protools m-powered + lots of plugs, all it takes to compose and record easily without worries. Gnrale latency (in + out) perfect for recording in CD quality, in 10ms, so no audible latency to the beats of plugs, and if I live in rpeter monitoring. I increase the latency mixing on projects heavier, say from 8-track, and I have no problem sticking a lot of software in the mix. Just be careful if you go up the frquence (96khz style) and if you add plug on configs muscles too, as a saturated course faster, but I do not use it eventually the dj is the quality as it is. Anyway, it works well if you know how to use its hardware.
The sound is good carrment was enough to make both in terms of pramps microphones that made for direct instrumentals, there's something to mix with an excellent record. It's great on my KRK output, and headphone outputs are of good quality (also two headphone outputs, it's really great for work and two to catch!)
OVERALL OPINION
I honntement for a year and I do not see what you can ask for more but may be a little lack of volutivit and two physical inputs under certain circumstances (but hey if we also have a mixer is OK). If a fit, like me, in your needs, it's really good I like the quality of sound, ease of use, I / O, solid manufacturing, etc. .. .
The report qualitprix is more than excellent - in time, it's really royal.
I had tried several other sound cards, including a digi and a motu, and honntement the diffrence in price is not worth the shot: plug in the same gear, and the Difference of quality is really not at all obvious, especially if its done properly taken or that mix! So if this is in addition to drive plugs, make mixes or add VST, I do not see the intrt because the converters are well on the dj trs FW410 - except when actually we want a full professional studio, but everything must follow the rest of the stuff from beginning to end in this case ... Anything I have not put the 4000 in there!
