I used the Firewire Solo for a few weeks with my ASUS PC (Cubase and Reason) under XP, and I shut trs satisfied. It allowed me to do Save my keyboards and voice anywhere and bnficier good Stereo output. But I finally needed a card with multiple outputs for the purposes of live. So I IMMEDIATE pens the FW410.
The card also features two headphone outputs (1 on Solo only) which is very practical when used in mobile and want to share it qqun. A dtail that made me often default to the Solo.
The number of input-output might be more appropriate: 6 inputs instead of outputs and less than 4 t would perhaps be more convenient. But for my use, I do not have a problem of.
If the front inspires confidence and solid it will plug and unplug its jacks above the rear with more care.
UTILIZATION
The installation is absolutely childish, I had no problem. In less than 15 minutes, I uninstalled the driver of the Solo and install one of the 410. Pdf manual is clear and comprehensive trs.
GETTING STARTED
I had no concern for stability with the Solo. Not fault either with the 410. I use Reason and Cubase, no worries. But I do not push the gear end ...
I get an imperceptible latency of 8ms.
Excellent in both input and output.
Internal routing simple and readable.
Trs gnrale good ergonomics.
Two small regret, however:
- The knob "Level controller" assignment is a good idea. But it is from that place too prs gain 2, and flush with the table, making it difficult to access. But given the size of Casing may be they did not have much choice and feel good is when even trs.
- The blue LED flashes losque power the card is color but power. It is not used much and it agaant ...
OVERALL OPINION
I've had a week apart (all) small default ergonomics trs I am satisfied. This card confirms all the good that I thought of M-Audio.
J'espre simply held that the rear connectors on the hard. However much trs be careful with RPET and concerts, work sheets.
For 379, the quality-price ratio trs satisfactory. In addition it is a beautiful object, which does not gche!
