TopicPosted on 03/01/2007 at 14:04:15Does Presonus Inspire 1394 have a good soundcard?
I JUST started recording at my house and I am rather ignorant about equipment. I hear a lot about having seperate soundcard rather than an onboard soundcard....does the Presonus Inspire have a professional level soundcard? Please, any info would help.

sound is great, for 16 bit, i had issues using all four inputs at once(glitchy artifacts in recording) but
it woks great now that i turned off programs running in the background and ran the
profiler wizard with my cakewalk recording software.
Firewire seems like the way to go, if your computer has firewire 1396 port it's great.
Most laptops i've seen are 4pin so you'll need a 4 to 6 pin cable, and that means ya gotta use the
power adapter.
Be patient, READ ABOUT THE MOTHERBOARD CHIPSETS THAT IT WILL NOT WORK WITH
This thing is versatile, i'd buy another if i lost it, hoping my jam buddy will buy one
cuz apparently you can hook up 4 units daisey chain.
Using Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro2 , and disable my iGigRam Gateway laptop motherboard soundcard
drivers in Cakewalk .
