I was looking for a Firewire card, 24/96, 2 Hi-Z inputs, two XLR power supply with fantme ... for my personal home studio. I'm not a pro recording, and cheap product sduit me by its technical specifications compltes well.
My PC is brand new:
Athlon 64 4200 + dual core
2GB ram in dual channel
2 SD of 300 GB each
Motherboard GA-K8NF9 Ultra Gigabyten
Graphics Card Gigabyte GV-RX55128D
I use my piano (Clavinova), my guitar and my electric Electroacoustic, Aisne that two condenser microphones.
UTILIZATION
Trs simple ... unfortunately, does not work! Glops: playing a CD, I cracking unbearable. When reading e mp3 files, it's easier, no cracks, but the sound s'arrte after a few minutes and a reboot makes no difference. dsintaller and reinstall the card can rcuprer sound ... until the next crash.
The map is not an issue (it works fine on my old config): There is a big incompatibility. With what??

Indeed, the Service told me that my problem provenanit u that my firewire connection card intgre silent-mre, and had to buy a Firewire PCI card with 3 plugs S400 (no combo) and a Texas Instruments or VIA chipset (???).
I demand all-the-same that guaranteed me that it would work, and that dpense supplmentaire consquente compared to the price of the card would bring me happiness (... ).
I then had a philosophical explanation right on the computer today, and I had the impression of being made a little high (APRS DSOL 20 years of computing, which 4 as a project manager and 10 as a teacher, was upset ...).
And so ... This PC Card Firewire did not change my problem.

With its Features and its quality-price ratio, this card is well srement trs ... when there is no incompatibility!
In my case, back APRS store two weeks of unsuccessful attempts and desesprs: I so much wanted to keep it! I took an M-Audio Fasttrack Pro instead. Less well, but at least it works.
