I used (2) in each console Amek 24 tracks
I did a test in my studio before I buy, it was unbelievable, after testing many other sound cards and converters, is there really a difference! We had a bad mp3 and it seemed to hear a Master HD! it sounds really, finally a real musicality!
I mix of motion pictures, record and mix music of any style
They are plugged into a Mac Pro 8 core, 1O.6.7, 10 gigabytes of RAM, Raid Zero disc 10 000 rpm
UTILIZATION
The drivers are now very stable
Digital Performer 7.22
8 tracks 192 k
20 tracks 96 K appears in the console! No problem! 8 + 8 A / DD / A = 16 + both SPDIF / AES / EBU I converted with other additional devices = 20
But it is possible to channel 3 and get 24 tracks Orpheus A / DD / A 96 K. (See using the three SPDIF / AES / EBU or ADAT but then it will switch to 24 B 48 K and perhaps do 24 B 44.1 K. If we accumulated more in the SPDIF / AES / EBU and ADAT but there have reached an incredible number of tracks (I'll let you count)
The clocks are so stable that even without world clock mode (CSP by the fire wire) it works perfectly with 3 Orpheus!
Fortunately for mac is the only solution to chain 2 or 3 cards (where more https://www.prismsound.com/music_recording/products_subs/orpheus/online_manual/index.html?install_casc.htm) ... PC can use the world clock or other ...
BUT BEWARE THE ORPHEUS ARE VERY SELFISH, IT DOES NOT SHARE THE BUS WITH FIRE WIRE EXTERNAL DISC (MOSTLY FW 800) OR OTHER PERIPH. EXTERNAL FW.
REASON FOR THIS IS USING ALL THE BANDWIDTH BUS CLOCK FW THAT PASSES THROUGH THE FIRE ESPECIALLY ON MAC AND THEN GETS ON STABILITY OF CLOCK VERY GOOD THAT PROVIDES ITS PURE AND VERY DETAILED.
ALSO FOR THIS REASON IT IS POSSIBLE chains 3 to 96 K ORPHEUS WITH HIS INCREDIBLE STABILITY WITHOUT THIS WORLD CLOCK and JUST BY THE FIRE WIRE. PRISM VOLUNTARILY INTERFACE IN DEVELOPING THEIR MEANING. IT'S THE FIRE WIRE WITHOUT SHARING SO WITHOUT RISK OF LOSS OF GIVING WITH AUDIO AND OPPORTUNITIES WORTHY PCIe CARD!
DAMAGE TO MY SENSE IS NOT THAT INDICATE THAT MORE CLEARLY AS I PUT THE CHARACTERISTIC TIME TO UNDERSTAND WHY MY FIRE WIRE EXTERNAL DISC 800 WERE UNUSABLE BECAUSE THEY WERE PLANTING THE CARDS! (I would not put 10 because of this lack of information)
THE SOLUTION IS TO BUY A CARD FIRE WIRE 400 PCIe ONLY FOR OUR ROLLS OF HER!

Of course there will always be linked to the latency FireWire which is inconvenient if we re-recorded on tracks already recorded and yet it is imperceptible when decent buffer to 128. But when manufacturers say "zero latency" is necessary even if it is severely limited by the DSP, there are still a bit tjs. But the moment we can play without interference then it will be ... But it is true that for avaoir little latency with the prism is better to have a machine able to power down the buffer easily ... M'enfin today's most powerful machine the problem too!
Tjs ago after the ProTools HD is good but not the sound aurra PRISM Nearby, the ideal is to use only as a converter plug Prism optics on a ProTools HD (for power) but bill can make you sick ...

OVERALL OPINION
3 YEARS
I had a MOTU and M Audio 96, I tested converters, LYNX AURORA very good but not enough musicality to my taste, very punchy but not too late, just like Halo maps Metric also tried (I wonder if it's not the Americans against his English). Finesse allied to the dynamics I've finally found in Prism ...
I also had a card before my second Apogee Ensemble Orpheus, thinking that I could "mix" the two: big mistake not bear the sound of all beside the Orpheus!
I resolve me and my wallet to cry :-(
What I like most is how they developed while to get the maximum quality in a fire wire card, until preamp that have nothing to envy with a lot of high end preamp and then two entered high quality phono level which allows direct connection of a platinum vinyl top, vinyl scan in 24 B with 192 k what the conversion PRISM feet. And I guess the dj must entertain too! There are also over the clicker that allows each to be on record very frt without fear of saturating ...
What I like least is surely the price but still in an excellent product made in England, it's hard to get the price Made in China.
And if you add the price of 4 good preamp over a hardware limiter on each input, plus phono high quality is widely have to dessu price therefore in this sense we can say that the value for money is pretty good ...
