All user reviews for the Wharfedale EVP-15 Neo

Pair purchased in 2011, I was using before the Wharfedale 12 'I can not remember the references (EVPX perhaps) then Wharfedale Titan 12.
Minimum: Finishing carpet. AC pill and pick off any dirt.
Plus: Compact, light enough to carry and lay them on a walk without help from anyone. When the sound, another surfer has already made a similar remark: new, they lacked bass. Now it is broken and it's nickel. Used with an amp QSC GX3 (2 * 300 Watts into 8 ohms) power swallow it without flinching.
The value for money is excellent (it is true that I had enjoyed a good promo).
If I were to change? To enliven evenings 50-100 people that find the best in this price range? I do not see. So what would make me change, possibly save space for transport in this case I would take a subwoofer and two satellites.

-How long have you use it?
Now eight months, and they come often enough (rack: hpa B1200 amp, compressor / gate dbx 266XL).

-Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
I have already used the JBL JRX 115, rcf art 312 and 315 SERIES, the peavey xt, Systmes triphonic of hk, the former EVPX SERIES, ect ... I also cost a lot of System.

-What is the particular feature you like best and least?
They are trslgres, appearance and finish strong, relatively compact (compared to JRX, I used prcdemment). The sound is not bad at all in the treble, not aggressive (even a little quiet when the compression the better with a real equalo), the yield is low plutt good. They have a lot of punch and are quite imbalances. In any case a long way for this new series (they sound better than EVPX). Look under "amateur" than the old SERIES EVPX too. Least, ben ca rest of entry level.

-How do you report qualitprix?
180 euros for speaker, not better!

-With the exprience, you do again this choice?
Forcment not, because buying a replacement (I bought a range over more time). In any case Premire advise pregnant, ca not run the portfolio and the quality is there.

Now that I hast lugging a lot I can give a more objective opinion: not bad at all so used (for the electro / DnB / ect ...), I am told quite often even When I organize evenings in small room the sound is good.
I also rcemment Sonoris a group of electro dub in a small room for a friend dpanner (2 synths + bass + guitar + vocal microphone, and various effects, guitar and bass by transplanted microphones on their respective scne amps, synths live on the console (01v yam, it n'tait not me but the group), the compressor connected between it and the amp. The battery n ' not taken for the silent faade, this both the small size of the room).
H t I surprised though as far as group members: ca sends clean and well (it's also not the EV eh, do not DCON). Clear sound, no flash, good intelligibility. I read reviews on it trsngatifs on other sites, I must say that considering the price I do not understand why (may be that if we do not know how to use the hardware that ach you ...)

I try gemini JBL JRX 115 of rs 412 and a power works Powo

What is so special that you like most and least?
the +: very good value for Q / P, deep bass, jack combo connectors / Speakon, a pretty good performance and a clean sound.
the -: of acute sometimes too powerful and finishing carpet but hey you can not have everything for that price.

How would you rate the quality / price?
very good I might even say great because the pack with € 599 as its two amplifier A 1800 hpa and two Speakon cable on techsono is excellent!

With experience, you do again this choice? ...
probably yes then may be I will buy another pair for the largest evening and after the range above, but at least I trusted wharfedale is serious.

Not much but a few listens anyway.


* What thing do you like most/least about it?

- The design pleases me well, it is reminiscent of EVPX and is rather pro
- Mine has carpet finish, fairly good indeed and well dressed
- Performance is significantly higher than the merdouille kind of kool sound and Co. sometimes we must endure in the evening ^ ^
- The sound is good, but we must calm down the treble (like many speakers in the same price range I think) and re-raise the bass a little light for my taste, especially once the speakers raised. (I'm considering buying an equalizer in the short term and a subwoofer in the longer term.)


* What is your opinion about the value for the price?

A 200 € unit for me it's worth it, as I said on another product, it can start without waiting for an eternity, without breaking the bank but without falling into mediocrity. (Far from it!)


* Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...

If I have the same budget yes, but when I have more money I will turn surely towards a higher range models.

Pregnant recently purchased via mail order (Woodbrass).

These are the first real speaker sound system other than the low range that we buy. We tried before to older models Yorkville (15''+ hp comp) and Electro Voice (ditto) that we had lent ..

What we decided: the price (about 190 € the enclosure) and the strong reputation of the brand.

They are robust: tested again and live (pub), they show robust but also fairly small and manageable compared to other models mentioned that weighed much heavier. Well done: catch combo jack / Speakon.

The sound: less accurate in the midrange and treble that Yorville or Electro Voice, which were of high quality. on the other hand, good bass presence and an overall balance of sound very good. Good yield (98db). Effective communication of its two bases for feet, one can tilt the speakers forward.

The sound sucked tested on a Powermixer Omnitronic that comes under 2X110W 8Ohms: enough for singing in rehearsals with musicians who play strong nags. The volume is almost at the stop but the speakers, sub-system does not saturate.
In concert we used a Peavey amp that CS released under 2X240W 8Ohms: the speakers have cashed without flinching and the public had the pennies.

Excellent value for money by our standards of punks who broke finally discover a voice for his faithful. Sure there are better, but it is much more expensive.
