I will talk about the V8 version with chicken knob buttons and not the 2nd edition V7d not to be confused
The V8 is manufactured from 1999 to 2009
there are two of the V8 edition:
2nd edition True Bypass, the circuit is changing with BC547C transistor, it is recognizable with the 4 screws on the front
The first edition is not true bypass, equipped with transistor BC549C, recognizable with 6 screws in total
The two versions do not have a power outlet, unless modified so whilst living cells

I use it on bass, and a Fender Jbass Pbass with an Ashdown Evo amps
What's it like it or not but fans of Muse (Chris Wolstenholm) will be in heaven, we find the grain of its fuzz, I love it hot, there's bold presence and do not eat too low as a rat, coupled with an overdrive or a distortion via an LS2 we believe it almost
OVERALL OPINION
I 'used for 1 year and she let go ... So much that it pisses me, given the cost of repairing it I've found her replacement the Bass Big Muff which sounds almost like the proof? http://www.kitrae.net/music/big_muff_history2B.html # SmallBlackRussian the test is performed with a guitar so for those who are in my case, all is not finished
I confess I would rather find the original but when I see the bargain price of the V8 is abused for a longer pedal manufactured since 2009 and therefore no warranty is your risk of the So I made a cross over above this pedal initially worth queudalle ... therefore be not out either over € 100 it gets anything ...
I invite bassists to test the Zvex Mastotron as another alternative and may be slightly cheaper than Big Muff v8 Used
