The Algal Bloom is a thick, nasty new fuzz pedal by FH(fx). The circuit design received valuable input offered by Mellowtone (a builder for FuzzHugger.com and a contributor to the FH(fx) Hugger). The result is a brutal and unique new fuzz, says FH(fx).
It draws from some unconventional fuzz-making components and controls, including a huge gain circuit for majorly overdriven fuzz tones.
The tri-stage control setup offers both flexibility and more subtle adjustments in tone and response. From backed-off drives, to thick and bassy fuzz, to a bright and searing fuzz tone that still remains amazingly full. The most influential control is the Gain (Bloom) control, which expands the fuzz, increasing the gain and the searing quality of the tone, all the way up to an over-annunciated throaty roar!
The pedal can be purchased at FuzzHugger.com (also a dealer for Mellowtone, Pro Tone, Devi Ever, and Smallsound/Bigsound) starting in January 2009!
