    The fuzz that I had

Wampler Pedals Velvet FuzzPublished on 01/20/14 at 11:47
(This content has been automatically translated from French)
Analog Fuzz by Wampler, 3 knobs: Volume, Fuzz (for analyzing the effect), Brightness (which serves as a filter to clear up the sound a bit like a Tone) and THE Big Switch / Tight gives the whole point of this pedal.
The advantage of this pedal compared to FuzzFace is its format, which makes it easy to slip into a pedalboard even if the frame is a little bigger than a Boss or MXR.

    UTILIZATION

Given the simple config and impossible standard to lose here remains in a vintage style and plug & play. We obtain immediately a very good sound, and allows the switch to oscillate between standard type fuzz Fuzz Face (Big) or Disto very thorough slobbering fuzz on (tight)

    SOUND QUALITY

(The) sound is just huge, it's ample, rich and full of sustain. You really feel the organic side of this fuzz. As said in the small leaflet (which offers preset to tame the beast) this pedal was thought of as a fuzz going into an amp already pushed (not bad reference Hendrix or Gilmour).
For my part I really adhered to Tight mode for the distortion / fuzz side, it's really the sound I was looking for (and fuzz tone 3/4 and with a strat neck pickup is right there in the intro Red Hot Live at Slane Castle).
Big mode allows for a more "standard" Fuzz Face-type (but not Big Muff too synthetic for my taste) fuzz while keeping the qualities mentioned above, the sound is more "full" is for printing to spit the amp.
Video in ProGuitarShop can realize the potential of this pedal that is part of my set up.
With overdrive (pedal or amp) and wha we are right in the Voodoo Chile ..

    OVERALL OPINION

Used for about 4 months, I have a Big Muff EHX did not like me as here (its too synthetic), I tried the pedal as in Maxon SD9 example that offers a mix distortion / fuzz .. But this is the only pedal I've tested that offers race really gain between fuzz and distortion pushed!

The pedal can seem a bit expensive (over 200th) but it's handmade and top quality! So in the end the quality / price ratio is, I think, justified, especially when you know what you want.

If it were to fail, I'll buy a without hesitation!

Overall Rating 9/10 because nothing is ever perfect (although for me it is)
