Yes, the installation is long, but is no problem (I installed two times after a change of HDD) configuration is complex and technical, but a doc to pdf in French help is on the apple website. There are incompatibilities with everything VST (developed for Cubase and programs under windows) Yes really detailed and clear enough. (Pdf is 1460 pages) and answer most of the questions use and settings.

It is essential to have at least a 10.6, I would say for a CPU core 2 only (my config) but if you can opt for a heart Input 4 is better. Next memory I put 8GB is the maximum pluggable on my card. The audio is very hungry ram also set the maximum especially if you may overload the CPU to the AUDIO / MIDI convertion. this is the problem I had when I was only 2GB. The hard drive should not be overlooked, because Logic Pro keeps everything if you will not not clean from time to time (highly recommended) your backup folder can be up to 20 see 25 go for as 7 minutes. I do not use logic pro to sleep lol! No seriously I'm far from a pro like Jean Louis Hennequin for example, but I'm starting to get by. Besides, I've been using his training DVDs available from Eleform and now the only videos in French (except for a video on youtube but I have more address type you find on youtube) It's been two years since I 'm on mac with logic pro. Before I worked on calkewalk under Windows XP.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since version 7
I tried Cubase, Live, Reason, but I feel better with logic.
live is better to speed workflow and assignments midi controllers level.
but in logic, I like the sound quality, the amount of plugins provided with automation and accuracy.
I spent over a thousand euros for version 7 has the time .. it was already somewhat expensive considering everything in it (and earlier versions some instrumentals as exes eg 24 were sold separately) .. but now it is downloadable for less than 160 euros on 'app store, it's downright given!
for serious work of music production is a must have! especially at this price!

I m servai of logic 9 for the composition.
player since I have reason to differ, but that is not al time in rec reason so I tried logic and adopt early.
for me it is one of the best daw, and that price is the top c.
I have even changed everything for pro tools because taf, and I've realized a major default of logic for me (I was the age fesai with but more question today!) c is the impossibility move and change the order of the sections in the mix window.
c quickly shit when you exceed a certain number of tracks.

The GUI is pretty bad but you get used to.
The manual and the configuration are not always obvious but eventually achieve his ends.

For example, the configuration of a control surface is sometimes confusing. It is downright appeal to notions of Boolean arithmetic (format of the value of a controller: unsigned, signed 2's complement or 1's complement signed Uh, good question!).

The software contains bugs and pretty lights is not a rock-solid stability.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months. I practiced a lot Cubase VST Score 4 for models (audio) and partitions of a rock band in 2000. Then I merely Garage Band for individual use (mainly jazz accompaniment).

I would say that once you have tamed the beast, its bugs and subtleties, we get results that are close to competing software (worth 2 to 3 times more expensive). It is even quite well served.

Apple acquired Emagic, but failed to integrate its software better.

A trouble-free installation, a good little time is needed and this mainly because of the sounds.
The manual was a plus, but I had the book by David Nachman very well developed.
Just take a little time to mess with a little software!

I use it for 3 years.
Yes I turned, or rather I was trying to run Cubase, and I lost a lot of time. Logic 9 has changed my life to a point where I could finish my compositions started without problem.
The ability to compose and mix for me is very nice, everything is clearly reflected.
Report interesting quality to the date of purchase and yet there is not so long even better (less than 200 euros for download on apple store).
I remake that choice without hesitation.

I use Logic since 2005, I was 7 previously and am very happy with the result.
The advantage Logic is having a production plant in the hand between the samples, loops, audio functions and noon everything is accessible with one click.
The value for money is excellent.
Yes, with the experience I remake this choice knowing that I was looking for a workstation for me to do everything: audio and midi composition, recording, publishing, mixing ...
There are obviously other, more demanding software but specifically manages parties that logic is: Pyramix, Pro Tools or Digital Performer. They are obviously better quality point of view but are not as versatile as stations Logic productions. For mastering I rather tend to use Pyramix poour mix and Protools editing seems more competitive, to do so as needed!

Installation and easy configuration supports 32/64bit, I recommend a powerful mac and memory following machine secondly if good budget do not forget a powerful HD. The installation goes if you add all the sounds.
The manual is clear is French. Many forums aid.
In terms of configuration midday I would not do better, but with the "environment" is not really fun!

After many maj the latest version is very stable, just a few easy to identify bugs and known in the community.
I use many plugins without too many problems.

I use it since its launch, I also appreciate that I live less is more for the live I think.
Logic is a very good and comprehensive software.

I really appreciate being able to use the 5.1 because I have a full KRK 5.1.
Something some other DAW can not do, but of course less generally used more for movies. So be sure to check that you go with such music.

MacBook Pro 15 inch 4GB ram, 2.45 processor and Snow Leopard 10.6.8 in its work correctly with a small setup with a large configuration system crashes and lack of stability, after some adjustments we can use a large configuration but not fully and in the desired quality.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few months it must admit its not worth a pro tools but say it is very powerful and complete I use both for production and for the very steady HandySheet rec sessions. For the price it do more than his job. The choice I would do if I had to.

With Version 9.1.8 running in 64-bit I have not experienced any incompatibility and with integrated tools 32-bit bridge work very well

My machine is a hackintosh mounted nov.2012 associated with the Roland Quad-Capture Card

16GB of ram, a ssd and i7 3770K are more than enough to run Logic, namely with the benchmark file EvanLogicMultiCoreBenchmark the cpu overload is reached to 111 tracks, this is an indicator that enables a sort through the efficient processors nothing more

It is also installed on my mac mini server 2011 Quad i7 2GHz 8GB of RAM and up to 60 tracks no problem with the same file for the benchmark

The software runs on the configuration and stability is to visit and truly deserves its Roland AF Award safe bet!

OVERALL OPINION

Since December 2012, but I had already had the opportunity to make use of Logic Express in 2010

My sequencer of choice is Reason since version 4, as bcp people here I tested some sequencers but it is Reason that suits me best

The goal was to improve with Logic as the mixing with Reason 4 and 5 it was really light side there. Logic with the possibilities are interesting but lack some aspects such as the ability to move tracks in the mixer. One can only color the label the name of the slice and the slice not complete which is a shame because it helps identify areas more quickly especially if they are grouped

The rewire with Reason 4 and 5 works very well with this version of Logic.

The interface is slightly perfectible as across the interface where sometimes look for in a submenu a simple function

There are old bugs lurking here and there, such as in the piano roll that when we created the first note you must scroll the mouse to return it because it changes octave alone (graphic bug)

Overall this is a good sequencer to compose and mix it to suit beginners to learning a complete product as advanced users and professionals, including some well-known use every day. The samples and loops are provided with a little obsolete now especially on electro but nothing prevents to create their own sounds or to obtain more current sound banks

The tools provided are legion and offer endless creative possibilities if you take the time to dig out as bcp STAN elsewhere. For example, do not hesitate to stack multiple ESX24 in a track summation to obtain a sound that disconnects. The effects are effective and can get quite a mix ready for mastering. The product is certainly questionable but what sequencer is not?

I know better bcp Logic and Reason that can only give an opinion "more detailed" € 149.99 but I still assigns an overall rating of 9/10 well deserved despite his imperfections and especially when compared to its price direct competitors completely unrealistic!

Apple Logic Pro 9 is a very good sequencing program, you can pretty much do your whole song in Logic 9 from the musical creation process to the recording process. You will be very pleased with how much Logic Pro 9 can help you. Even if you have used Logic before and have an earlier version of it. It will still be beneficial for you to upgrade to Pro 9 asap.

I ran apple pro logic pr 9 on my mac book pro for a while. It wont crash or cause any problems for you. I have been nothing but please with Pro 9 and its ability to give me a good sounds and a great work flow process.


OVERALL OPINION

Overall, the best thing about Logic Pro 9 that I love is the synths that come with it. Logic Pro 9 is one of the few softwares that I would say can actually go without having to purchase a bunch of other synths right off the bat. All of the built in (that come with it) synths are high quality and are very unique. Each plug in can be controlled 100 percent from all parameters. It comes with a packed library of great synths and sounds. Only thing that I really didn’t use that came with it where the drums. I imported my own drum kits because I have a unique sound of real live kits that I love. Logic Pro 9’s live drum kits arent that good for me. But that is not problem at all because we all have our own drums we love to use. The mixer track on Logic Pro 9 is top quality too, you can really get a good master if you know what you are doing and have a solid ear. You will have no worries with Logic Pro 9. Its not very cheap though it does cost a good amount of money. But this is actually one of the only softwares I can say that complete with Pro tools on a professional level.

Mac Pro early 2009, 6GB of Ram and 2 TB of disk space spread over 4 bays.

Stability is the rendezvous, undoubtedly, fluid and fast despite using a lot of plugins included and others like the UAD.

OVERALL OPINION

For nine months, after working with Cakewalk, Cubase and Protools, I feel much better when using Logic as the others. Difficult to explain why .... Perhaps accustomed to the MAC environment for years.

It is clear that I will ever be the choice unless Logic Pro X follows the same direction as Final Cut X returns to the general public ...

Installation is flawless just a little long.
The config is a breeze, like all good apps Call elsewhere.
The manual is a bit limited, but all the basics to operate the software on it. We find little on the NET, a doc of 718 pages dealing with all the plugins and effects found in Logic, something to read during the long winter evenings.

J have not encountered any compatibility issues either with the 64-bit CPU, nor with the audio interface MOTU 8pre.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Logic since March 15. I already tried Nuendo 2 on PC but I met latency issues that I never managed to totally eliminate. This is not the case with Logic, I have no such probs.
On price of course, is something else. One must engage in audio editing regularly to justify the purchase of 500 €.
