« Daw modern and ergonomic »
Published on 10/21/12 at 05:20I started by installing Studio one artist 2 that came with my FireStudio. Then I bought the upgrade to version producer (5 licenses in downloaded version).
Automatic configuration with PreSonus gear and zero concern with other internal or external cards. The manual is clear and detailed hyper excluding tutorials available on the website or youtube.
Entering the new license number and restarting the program, the functions of the Producer version are unlocked so no first uninstalling the old version.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
I runs iMac Core i5 3.60 GHz, 12GB Ram, Mountain Lion, PreSonus FireStudio firewire card.
With 45 plugins loaded my Cpu consumption barely reaches 20% no problem and zero latency (7.2 ms).
Not crash after 2 months of intensive use.
Works with all my plugins 64-bit Audio Units and VST. No loss of sync.
Midi keyboard M Audio Evolution MK249c2 recognized and donctionne nikel.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for about two months and with pleasure. I previously used Magix Sudio, VST32 Cubase, Cubase Sx3 and then Ardour 1.2 (Linux), Garageband and Logic 9 Mac and finally Studio One. For me it is the most modene in its design and ergonomics. Almost everything is available in one click. The menus are well thought out. Found that all other sequencers are addressed but in a much simpler logical and relevant. Moreover, when used for more than ten years other sequencers have is amazed at the simplicity of handling light years of gas plant as Cubase Sx3.
All useful functions are present even if not handle partitions (but I did not use).
Plugins are quality and pleasant to use.
The interface is clear and can handle a lot of things by drawing and dragging.
A choice to make your eyes closed.
