Hi folks,
I'd like to get your opinion on what is a good set of studio monitor speakers to buy.
I'm a begginer at recording but I would kind of like to get a set that will last...

Thanks in advanced

Do a search on MAudio. They have some dcent entry level monitors. You might also check out Behringer.

Behringer 2030A

They're powered, good size, sound good, and at $299 a pair, you can't beat 'em.

Kid-

If they have somewhere where you can demo some monitors, do this-

Take a CD you know real well, that you admire the mix on, and that is representative of the style of music you want to record. Use that to judge how the monitors sound.

Look hard at bass response (flabby? soft? tight and punchy?), and midrange (harsh? clear and defined?) and the highs (harsh? shrill? dull? crisp and airy?)

Let your ears decide for you, bro. Any of the suggestions, including yours, may be good.

Once you get 'em home, placement and your room are important, too.

KRKs are great, I use a pair of V-4s, bass is a tad lacking but otherwise crystal clear.
