I'll try to stay away from rule #3, so... here goes:

I'm wanting to make techno music (I guess individual tracks), for demos. Not sure about instruments, and I might add vocals occasionally. I have a desktop (Windows XP), and about 42 GB free space.

What are some programs/equipment I should get? Anything thats not to complicated (well, I'd prefer simple until I can educate myself) might be good for now.

I'm really not into techno, but you might take a look at Fruity Loops or Reason for software....

Hopefully somebody else who does electronic music will chime in here.
