Ok I'm new here too. Hi all.
My question - first of many to come I'm sure - is this:
I have just purchased 2 CAD GXL2200 Condensor Mics and was planning to use them with my rather outdated Soundtech 4150 power Mixer/Amp...Path as follows - Mics to Mixer, Mixer to Aux input on computer...
Now I note that the mics need a 48v phantom power supply -- and assumed that the amp/mixer would supply that need....Hmmm - when I hooked it up --- notta sound :? Well there was but it was so faint it was nill. I know the mixer works fine -used it with mics that plug into the Hi input...
Anyway - was I wrong in assuming that power would be supplied by the amp/mixer - do I need to buy a phantom power supply??? Appreciate any help on this.
Thanks.

If your mixer has fantom power just turnit on. My meckie has switch to tourn on/off fantom power. If your mixer doesn't has fantom power you'll have to buy a power supply.
