Audigy ZS Platinum recording...HELP

hi all,

I have a run of the mill P4 and i just went out and bought a new Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum for games and a bit of recording.
I want to record my giotar, nothing too serious, just for a bit of fun, and i've tried using the bundled software (cubasis VST 4 Creative edition and WaveLab Lite) to record but they don't pick up anything.
Is there a way of doing this with my current setup?
