Voil ending for four years I possde a gibson les paul, which are mounted on the 498T and 490R. In beginners, j'tais really: the guitar seemed trs perfomance but I wanted to change the pickups, so they struck me as cis poor (I had to climb another skyscraper a super distortion and paf pro for which I still have a boundless admiration, which explains my dception vis - vis those cis). In short, I had never used the les paul in concert because I play in a group of death and the sound did not match my expectations. Then I realized that the guy who sold me the instrument was rgl trs down the 498T, I hastened to go and I fell on my chair: the sound is g nial. Versatile, more importantly: I use it for death metal riffs / jazz the cynic, everything is there: clarity smooth grain. It is even possible to solo without piercing the eardrums with other musicians, like the tone-zone! I do not know the price, I think it is quite expensive. But I do not think about change, because it provides all the sudden death of the great jazz softer, use the volume knob to draw in a wide range of sound.
For another skyscraper, I do not know if I will take this microphone I prfre test its possible plutt as a stand alone, but I recommend the 498T anyone has not yet !

I brought up this mic on my Schecter Blacjack, replacing a best seller, the Seymour Duncan SH-4 The Job.

The 498T is very well equilibrated (no bass that drool, no slamming too acute, uncontrollable no harmonics), hot in the mdiums, plutt round in the bass prcis , average output level. Small cot in his vintage clear.

According to Gibson, "perfect for hard rock applications and Easily overdrive." My faith in the large distortion I play rock / metal and passes impeccable '.

It was THE classic micro brand found on most Gibson LP or SG.

It is relatively expensive, but for my part I could find it for 90 euros all included on ebay USD.
Comes with a nice clear plastic bote brand that will serve mdiators box!

Once you pass in single coil it sounds terribly well on its crunch / overdrive, funky gogo (a Fender Aboard), no report in clean, distortion is large in the Bordeaux mixture ...

I just mount it on my Epiphone Les Paul Standard, it's all good. Before I had a couple Gibson 500T 496R, but I'm tired.
The sound is quite compressed, modern, I feel there is a slight hollow in the low mids, not unpleasant, really the type of sound I expect from a Les Paul, powerful, full bodied and edge at a time.
Less gain that the mics 500T ceramic, but more than the classic 57.
The tone is very warm, rich mids well, not much treble, the criticism I would make him, he lacks a bit of treble and thus shine, but hey, more than enough presence to break into a mix anyway.
Very good sustain.

I speak only of its crunch, because it is the only one I use.
I'm happy with the mic, I have another LP mounted Burstbucker # 2, sounds are complementary.
Cheap and effective, will revive a good ptite Epiphone, recommend.
