Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700

The Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700 is a simple seven band equalizer pedal that is designed for use with electric guitar. This pedal is much like the Boss 7 band EQ pedal, and knowing that Behringer reverse engineers their products, I wouldn't be surprised if they straight up copied it. The pedal has a standard make up in terms of it's general characteristics, with 1/4" jacks for input and output and requiring power from either a nine volt battery or power supply. It's not rack mountable as it's a foot pedal.

UTILIZATION

It's not at all hard to use the Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700. It's just a seven band EQ, with each slider having it's own frequency. There doesn't seem to be any sort of real chosen reason for these frequencies other than each slider is double the frequency of the slider before it. The range goes from 100 Hz to 6.4 kHz, and also features an overall output level slider as well. It's so easy to use that no one should need a manual.

SOUND QUALITY

Honestly, I really think that the Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700 does more harm than it helps. It definitely seems to kill your tone a little bit in terms of signal loss, which is enough of a problem not to make the pedal worthwhile in my opinion. The EQ definitely will do it's job in terms of cutting or boosting at given frequencies, but I wouldn't say that it's too clean sounding. It will do an okay job for adding a bit of color here and there, but a simple tone knob could probably do as good of a job without killing any signal...

OVERALL OPINION

Never in a million years would I have the Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700 in my guitar rig! I understand that it's a cheap pedal and all that, but first off I'm not really sure why you would want a graphic EQ in your pedal line to begin with, let alone one of this low a quality. I'd highly recommend starting with the tone knobs on your guitar and amp before searching for a graphic EQ pedal. If you do decide you want further and more precise EQ control for your guitar, I'd stay away from the Behringer EQ700...

UTILIZATION

Use simple, we come to shape a few seconds drinking ... And I'm not the most gifted!

SOUND QUALITY

I use a digitech rack (rp 150 or something like that) in the effects loop of a Marshall TSL 100 head to boost my solo sound with a strat HM USA. I only use the delay, chorus, reverb, noise gate and octaver rack for simulations and other bouzillent sound.
The Equalizer really gives me a real roundness to the sound that is clear and powerful at the same time, without getting unwanted feedback paste .....

I tested several preamps, etc. distos but it really is with this Equalizer my farts sound I like. On the clean channel, I add a Xotic BB front for blues sounds and it is top ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for six months after 20 hacks of all kinds and I can not do without.
Feast at small price, here to celebrate!

I play in a group that includes all the styles (johnny cash through to metallica van halen, acdc phone, this configuration is really ultra versatile.

UTILIZATION

Usage is simplisisme when we know the graphic equalizers.

The most negative: the knobs have no guts to mark the 0 dB. Moreover, switching from -15 dB to +15 dB in just 3 cm, it is not necessarily very accurate ...

The location of the connector to the power supply next to the input jack is not very wise ...

SOUND QUALITY

The equalization is effective overall. I doubt he really rises to +15 dB, especially for the 100Hz but within the range "normal" (-6 / 6), ca does it well.
When everything is at 0 dB (or so) the sound is very faithful to the original and I have found no breath, even at 15 dB.

OVERALL OPINION

Excellent value for money (20 €).
This pedal does not claim what is asked ...
