OVERALL OPINION

For 20 € of Cygnus, it's a great investment!
For a bit feeble in the lower bowl, a weakling amp gain, guitars that are a bit body, a 2nd pedaleboard payday (or even the main pedalboard ....). This pedal, c's all good especially for the price.

SOUND QUALITY

There are pedals which we discover the usefulness and strength after only a few months: I bought this pedal to boost my clean Jet Lag 500 single coil and fat to give the distortion of my amp with my Les Paul . So I like it should be for a boost pedal, put the bug in my chain after the guitar and before attacking the guitar input. The result was ... blah ... too low and it sounded rough, short I wanted to sell ... and my favorite store told me "you've tried in the effects loop?" Nope I was 100 places to think about trying it. And then today I tried and then I got it! This pedal is in my opinion not really a clean boost or a treble boost but as the name suggests (I'm con) a "Linear Power Booster" so "linear" so that all frequencies increases linearly so perfect for the final signal booster. And there is a killer: the pedal sends sauce ++ directly in well hot lamps of the power stage of my Laboga Classic 30, makes saturate nicely and adds a few db of course (this is the least we can tell) without distorting the sound at all (that is linear as I recall) to swing a perfect solo with a raging Les Paul, great to boil too wise start ...

OVERALL OPINION

I wanted to finally sell I care.

Small metal box with a single knob for volume. Nothing special but at the same time not need.
Runs on 9V battery or power supply with (I think) on the other hand have to unscrew to insert the battery.

SOUND QUALITY

I play a LP via FX amp amp Clean, I have a Byang OD and distortion MXR M78, the boost comes right after.
When I enabled it, the magic sound is louder, no distortion of sound or blast generated by the pedal.
The problem happen to find the right level, actually the knob is highly sensitive in their use.

OVERALL OPINION

I buy it a month ago and I'm pretty disappointed (not too much 25 €) and I sold live. I think it is a boost to put before od and distortion to increase the gain boost but I found her quite difficult to manage. I pulled on an EQ for my sound boosted.

SOUND QUALITY

I squinted over for a while.
Ridiculous price for the gear (20 € secondhand).
I played on a Mustang single-coil pickups, and low output volume level (I keep his microphone if it is not a Mustang item!) Therefore I wanted to boost its volume light, and the muscles in saturation.

OVERALL OPINION

I deppuis uses 15 days, then yes a tube amp is the goal, but to enlarge a distortion of a transistor are all good too!
In the clear, dynamic respected mediums enriched slamming, everything is there.
Push it again and crunch.

Some use especially for a cruncher lamps amp, why not me is to warm the sound of my Mustang (which is beautiful, but a bit feeble).

OVERALL OPINION

That € 35 well spent! Triple Kiss Cool effect: it crunch, it gives the gain pickups trestle a bit feeble when it is placed upstream of OD and it adds bass welcome (in my case).

SOUND QUALITY

The boost is really impressive. When I plugged it in, I realized that this was what I was looking for years. You know, the demos on the internet, especially with Peter Stroud, these guitarists who cruncher their guitar with ease.
With this boost, the sound is louder, certainly, but it is also more "full" more present, more alive.
Clearly, you can go to the crunch (40% of the race) and overdrive.
Saturated, we get a more gritty sound, and above all a truly impressive sustain.

This pedal is not transparent, and lots of bass. I feel that the more you push the boost, the more they are present.
It happens to resolve the problem with the EQ on the amp.

IT happens to me more often not to use effects, but I can not do without this boost. We quickly get used to good things!

With a single channel amp, you can get some very interesting things.

Not entirely clear, it tends to add bass and midbass, but it gives a little color not bad.

on the other hand, not very progressive knob: 9am, it boosts a little below it lowers the volume at 10 it is more violent and beyond it boosts a lot (perhaps too)

I use it especially coupled with my Celmo Sardine Can (compressor), which has a built-in boost allows for a slight crunch, the LPB allows me to increase it to a crunch very very hairy. (What a frank saturation)

OVERALL OPINION

Good value for money. Nothing to say, it's effective. The lack of transparency may hinder some, but not as long as we boost a patient is not dramatic either.

This is one simpel pedal without any hazzle. It's small, fits into any tight occupied pedal board, does its job and doesn't cost a fortune. What more do you want?

You get a die cast housing, volume knob, an input and an output jack and finally an on/off switch. It utilizes a red LED light to indicate weather it's on or off. It can run on either a 9 Volt battery or a power supply.

UTILIZATION

Yes, you can ask for more then what you get. First of all the volume knob is so unbelievably sensitive, which makes it hard to dial in the correct amount of boos. You don't know how many dB you boost your signal. In a studio enviroment, somebody might find this info useful - Others would just ignore it.

In the setup I run at the moment, I can't dial up the boost pedal that much. Only a few percent of its total range. This has also made me tape down the button, so that I won't accidentally hit it, while activating the boost.

Some sort of an internal range switch would be nice, in order to keep this problem in check. But for the price range this pedal is in, that wound be an option.

SOUND QUALITY

I've tried this pedal on several amps and with several guitars. When throwing it into the signal chain, I don't notice any high end loss. And there is no need to worry when you hear a slight hiss, when the pedal is cranked all the way up.

You have to be careful where you place the pedal, when you use a solid state amp. If you place in front of the pre-amp you'll only get a gain boost and not a volume boost as such. In order to get the volume boost, you need to place it in the amps effect loop.

I've never had any other clean boost pedals, but I must say that I'm pretty impressed by this EHX.

OVERALL OPINION

This one is build like a brick, doesn't take a lot of space on the pedal board. You have a wide variety of options with it, such as volume unification between several guitar with different output, regaining lost signal strength after a long signal chain or just provide a plain and simple volume boost for a solo.

The different volume pedals doesn't cost that much and de difference between them are minute. So if cost is a factor, you can't go wrong with this one. Should it break, you just go and buy a new one.

Not excellent, but in no way bad as well.

1 switch and 1 volume. Not need more.

SOUND QUALITY

So there it's all good!
Front of the amp with a clean sound, the volume increases, have more scope to her.
In front of the amp distortion, the sound grows for leads or passages more nervous.
Personally I put it behind my distortion pedals to increase the volume when I solo and uses more power to "push" the amp if necessary.
Done wonders with my Delta Blues in particular to make the sound clear and glowing with the Dual Terror "testosteronner".
Not distort the sound, simply embellished!

OVERALL OPINION

IN-DIS-PEN-SAND!
May seem like a useful little effect at first but you will: swell the sound, turn up the volume for solos, render the warmer sound or boost a guitar more feeble than another depending on where you position it.
At that price it would be stupid to deny!

A button no-brainer, it's simple and effective, even the settings are very effective, large headroom, perfect for our little lamps supersaturated cherished, and get a big fat sound, never read the manual!

I am very happy with this pedal, especially given its price, it allows me not to change the settings on my amp and to have a similar distortion on my les paul and my strato (I used a lot of pedal with srtato not on the gibson) and I speak of course of amount of gain, distortion and not his, the two guitars will never sound the same course

The Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB-1 Power Booster is one of the most basic pedals you will find. An input from your guitar, an output to your amplifier, a power jack and one volume knob, and that’s it. Being from Electro Harmonix’s Nano line, this pedal has a small footprint and will fit on anyone’s pedal board. There is a red LED that lets you know when the pedal is engaged and the pedal can be powered by a 9 volt battery or by an additional power supply.

UTILIZATION

Much like the MXR Micro Amp, this pedal is a one trick pony, but you are able to use that trick in many different ways. Basically all this pedal does is boosts your signal, and this will do different things depending on where you put it in your signal path. In front of a tube amp this pedal can push you over the edge if the amp is set on the verge of breakup, while retaining your tone. When used in the effects loop of an amp this pedal can provide a huge boost in volume if needed that is much cleaner than when it’s used in front of the amp. This pedal is also handy to match the volume of guitars. For example if you use low output single coils in a Stratocaster and then switch off to a hot rodded Les Paul there will be a change in volume during a gig. Kick this pedal on while you play the Strat and off while you play the LP and you wont have to be constantly changing your volume knob on your amp during the show.

SOUND QUALITY

I did not notice any high end loss when I added this pedal to my setup, but when this pedal is really cranked there can be a slight hiss, but nothing out of the ordinary. This pedal is not as clean as the MXR Micro amp with my amps. There is a little more grit to the EH version, not much but it is there. I mostly use this pedal in the effects loop of my amplifiers because I don’t need a change in preamp gain/volume, but I prefer a cleaner boost of volume. I feel this pedal works better in front of an amp and that the MXR Micro Amp sounds better in the loop because it’s a little bit cleaner.

OVERALL OPINION

It can push the front end of your amp, provide tons of volume boost in the loop, match signals for different guitars during a gig, and regain a quality signal if many pedals are used in succession. Overall I think this is a great pedal to have in your arsenal. It’s built like a brick and it doesn’t take a lot of space on your board. This is a good pedal, but I prefer the Micro Amp from MXR because it is a little bit cleaner and seems to be built just a tad sturdier. There isn’t a huge difference between them though, so if cost is an issue I’d have no problem picking this one up instead.
