« DOD FX64 Ice Box Stereo Chorus »
Published on 11/17/03 at 15:00One of the first batch of single-effect pedals I bought. Musician's Friend had it for $49.99. I knew nothing about chorus pedals and the name sounded appealing, so...
Good sound -- a shimmering, cool chorus, very crisp. The "Ice Box" name is highly fitting. You get considerable control over the effect parameters.
After about a month of light use, the battery connection on my Ice Box conked out! Now, unlike most pedals, it will only work with an AC power supply, not with a 9V battery, and many repair places don't fix pedals. Inexcusable!
The pedal itself is okay, but the wiring I had problems with.
I use this pedal a lot because of its shimmering chorus sound, but having to use an AC supply is a pain in the neck. I think DOD should take a look at the durability of its wiring.
