It is a simple compressor. One volume, one tone and a button for comp dose effect. No battery is not the place. Amateur ultra simple so not very favorable tone at first, but eventually nothing annoying though.

UTILIZATION

The use is very simple but the format of the pedal (also very convenient, space issue) prevents any change in the volume live with the foot or even with your fingers, the mark is not visible when the light is missing.

SOUND QUALITY

I already have two compressor pedal, MXR Dynacomp and an old Ibanez (Soundtank series) recovered I know not where. The Ibanez is not easy to adjust and the manufacturing quality is not great, never managed to get a great sound with....…

The Ibanez is not easy to adjust and the manufacturing quality is not great, never managed to get a great sound with. The Dynacomp is great in terms of tone color and sustain but my problem was the fact that this pedal lack of gain. I mostly play guitar equipped with humbuckers, Ibanez FA100 (more than perfect replica of ES175) and Ibanez Artist am 70, both having more than 30 years, all that is connected to various tube amp (Klemt, Fender, Hohner orgaphon ...). When I enclenchais MXR I had a loss of signal which obligeais me to engage simultaneously boost pedal, a bit boring in the end. So I go to the music store and I tried MOOER but also Xotic sp and EH soul preacher.
EH is not famous, but large pumping effect coloring cool but useless (despite the three modes). The Xotic is very nice but too far from the color of the Dynacomp for my taste and tends to saturate quickly, very nice all the same. So after almost an hour of the tests mooer emerged as the obvious, large headroom, tone adjusts the sound and the comp remains discrete while doing his job and following the sound of the guitar. Only downside it did not sustain the Dynacomp.

OVERALL OPINION

I just bought it and after two hours of rehearsal I find very nice value for money (I paid less than 70 €, the seller is a friend.) I will keep the MXR Dynacomp with my Danelectro or sessions studio and thus keep the yellow comp for concerts. I reserve the right to supplement this opinion if necessary, over time we will see if other qualities or faults occur (manufacturing quality ....)
