« Metal Core »

This pedal really does shine in the high gain metal doom tones. You can get this pedal cranking into just about any nu-metal type rock tone you can think of. If you are a meaty chug rhythm type metal player or even lead metal tones than this pedal will be right up your ally.
- Size: 112mm (4.4"), 72mm (2.8"), 90mm (3.5")
- Weight: 420g (14.8 oz)
- Control: Level, Low, High, Dist.
- Ports: IN, OUT
- Power: DC 9V, 9V battery, 6mA

UTILIZATION

Very simple and easy to use. It only has four control knobs much like most distortion pedals. The level controls your overall volume output, the low will tailor your low end frequencies, the high will control your highs, and the dist will control the gain/ saturation. The gain is plenty on this pedal and the more you take it up the more it will get you that metal drive.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound is very high quality for being a pedal that is very inexpensive. This pedal is designed to be accompanied with a humbucker equipped guitar. This is good at the low tuning and dropped tuning style guitars as well as seven string guitars. I like this pedal in front of a high gain amp set to a clean punchy settings. You will get a solid driving metal tone that will carry very well out in front of the band mix.

This pedal will not sound like a metal amp like a VH4 or an Engl but it does a great job for a pedal. The sunds does sound like a pedal but it is very good for what it does.

OVERALL OPINION

I would recommend this pedal to anyone on a budget looking to get a good metal tone from a clean amp or a light high gain amplifier. It does well in front of a amp but also in the effects loop of one as well. I heard that they are designed for effects loop but that may be just a rumor.

For new these pedals come in at a round $120 which is a steal for a pedal that sounds this good.
