It's a BOSS pedal, I say more: Robustness, reliability, .... It is quite nice: a scary blood red.
Taiwanese manufacture dates from the mid 90's. It costs in the FRCS 650 at the time. It is no longer manufactured today (collector?).
UTILIZATION
It is quite easy to use. The knob PUNCH is quite original.
LEVEL: noise output of the pedal
CONTOUR: Tone sound, a sound is scrambling to sound sharper.
PUNCH: Adds a special dynamic to the sound envelope. This is similar to a filtering WahWah.
DISTORTION: Distortion and Gain View Add
SOUND QUALITY
This is a pedal made for modern rock. 90's sound to Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nail ...
The sound is very noisy, lots of gain, a thicker and less garish than a BOSS DS1 distortion conventional type. It does not offer the huge potato with a disto type Grasse BOSS MT2, but it helps to have some momentum without excessive gain.
I would say it is halfway between a fuzz pedal and a Disto oriented Metal. Suddenly, the sound palette is broad, contrary to what was stated in a previous post. By playing on the knob you get to find varied and interesting sounds.
OVERALL OPINION
It's a pedal to try. It has a sound and a particular grain, which will not please everyone but aficionados will find these.
