« Digitech Metal Master »
Published on 07/31/03 at 15:00I believe i paid 80 bucks at sam ash for this pedal. And am slightly disappointed in it.
Well built with a good metal distortion. Compact like every pedal should be and light. Sturdy nobs. Have had this pedal for a few years and not one manufacture problem with it.
OK the pedal gives you a good metal distortion sound, but if your like me and like alot of bass in your distortion then this will pose as a problem. Either its too much bass or too little bass. Ive matched it with a digitech 2120, behringer 21 band EQ, rane parametric eq. And still have the same problem. I shouldve stuck with the boss mt-2. Which im going back to. The morph nob is okay but compared to the mt-2 that lets you mess with the frequency of the mid this nob blows. The boss you can get a nice mid sound and then set the frequency. With the metal master you just get one mid sound which mid can either make or break your sound. So the freceuncy nob makes a big difference. And also the mt-2 has a drive nob incase you dont need full blown volume on the distortion and want some chrous or another effect to flow through the distortion.
Solid as every pedal should be. No problems with construction of this unit.
Its a good pedal and has a good sound. But if your looking to do fear factory, mesghuaga (however you spell it, NIN, Slayer or anything that might have a really really low end sound you should get an boss mt-2 cause that pedal can replicate the metal master plus add to the sound.
