[NAMM] F-Pedals works with Eddie Kramer
F-Pedals unveiled at NAMM 2014 a new series of wirelessly powered-effect pedals designed with legend Eddie Kramer.
F-Pedals is a new Italian company funded by Francesco Sondelli who made quite an impression at NAMM 2014 when coming with legend engineer Eddie Kramer with whom he partnered on a new Signature analog effect pedal series.
But Eddie Kramer may not have chosen F-pedals at random. Indeed, the brand brings an innovative concept that allows you to forget about power cord mess when using your effect pedal, for these little boxes are wirelessly powered using magnetic electricity (think Tesla concept, already used for charging smartphones for instance). F-Pedals adds that they main part of the work was to find a way to eliminate the noise induced by this kind of systems, which they apparently managed to fix. Note that you can also power the stompboxes with a Boss-type power supply.
The pedalboard that was introduced at NAMM 2014, and will power the stompboxes, is still a prototype, and can only work with the F-Pedals, but the manufacturer is thinking about developing an adapter so that pedals from other brands could also benefit from the system.
At NAMM, Eddie Kramer and Francesco Sondelli introduced two micro-sized pedals: the Phazevibe mixes a phaser and a univibe, and the Edstortion, a distortion pedal. Other models are on the menu.
