small change ultra classic but devilishly bnfique: changing the transistor 4558 Texas Instrument valve-tone with a "real" JRC4558D.

cot: 0.40 (0.35 if, like me, you put a socket for a change transistor and run tests without desoldering / soldering each time). I think this is the door to everyone ...

rsultat: really more grain and more gain (very noticeable) but still prcis. The gain obtained with the original V810 gain background is Ajourd'hui with the gain halfway. Otherwise, it's free!

short, mchamment one approaches the tube screamer, but with the small character of the Vox all the same.

This pedal is a gem. I am completely addicted, really perfect for a pop / britpop, if one seeks a small gain subtle.
It is very hard to find an overdrive pedal that gives your clear sound without distortion free switch in and ValveTone is clearly the best I've tried to get this result.
I played with Fender Twin Reverb 1979 U.S. Telecaster Butterscotch 52.
It is a wonder and it can also be set for a good distortion more straightforward.

OVERALL OPINION

2 years that I use and I'm thrilled.

Purhased from loacl music store on closeout for $60.00. I had read some good things about it and bought it without plugging it in.

A very nice low gain unit that works well as a clean boost and / or Tube-Screamer type overdrive. Very transparent. It lets the sound of your instrument come through without any artificial colors or flavoring. I use it in conjunction with a Real Tube, French Toast Dist/Oct, Arion Analog Delay, Boss Chourus and a volumme pedal into a Roland Blues Cube amp. The low gain of this unit works excellent for a bluesy sound and run into the real tube or overdrivin amp, it can get down right nasty. But on it's own, it works best as a low gain, blues type overdrive. Nice unit. Looks cool in chrome with black chicken head knobs. Has gain, level and tone.

Nothing not to like. Do not buy this if you are looking for an over the top grunge, metal type unit. That is not what it was designed for. If you like the tube screamer type sound, but this instead and you won't sound like the other 15 million guitar players who in turn sound like the other 15 million.....and so on..and so on....It will put an individual stamp on your sound.

Chrome steel body...Looks cool.Heavy...built to last.

Again, a very transparent, excellent sounding low gain unit. Great clean boost for adding some girth to your sound, or a great blusey crunch. I hear they are now discontinued, so if you can find one, snatch it up!!

The Boss SD-1 and Vox V810 are two clones of clbre Ibanez TS-9, the same drive and the legendary trs covets Ibanez TS-808.

The four pedals so the same resume CHARACTERISTICS:
- 1 1 In and Out jack (mono 6.35)
- 3 knobs: level, tone and drive
- 1 DC In
- Alim by a 9V battery

Small particularity to Vox must dvisser bottom panel (4 screws) to replace the battery

on the other hand, unlike the other three, this is really trs nice pedals, but also a little bigger. In addition, it is the only possder has a true bypass.
The case in mtal pais looks more than a Boss ... In any case, it PSE much heavier.

The chrome finish is really nice ... Finally, if the box prfre square yellow or green ...

UTILIZATION

OVERALL OPINION

Although my SD-1 team is home of the famous JRC4558 the TS-808 is with the V810 that I sound the hottest and most crmeux, the SD-1 As more garish, but with a little more gain.

Having bought this new Vox to 350F in 2000 (promo), the ratio quality price buries all other overdrive pedals. If I lose or steal it from me, I one of Rasht OCCAZ '(because I think most manufactures vrifier ....)

Note that it means trs well with my Vox AC30, for when I want more crunch, more fat ...

UTILIZATION

With the three knobs gain, tone and volume are made a sound. It takes a few seconds like most distos, except that you can not go wrong with it (except for zero-volume): it sounds all the time.

OVERALL OPINION

In my opinion the pedals is a "must-have." We are looking for a sound clean / crunch on a 70's combo prava british or lead guitar or a rock sound today. PDAL little known, it did not sell super well, I bought mine in 99, since they are no longer in stores.
Report quality unbeatable price ... if I find others, I achte!
Yes I tried other pedals. The TS-9 is mdium, it did not treble the Vox's. Can not talking about stuff numriques, POD and others. The Vox Valve Tone imitates nothing, it "is".
