Objectively, the characteristics of the pedals are few! One speed setting and the effect ... That's it!
But then, in the case of the CSP026, there needs nothing, absolutely nothing else for it pahsing is just perfection.
With respect to the components used, it is in the very high end whatsoever in input jack or at the switch activation, and, of course, the bowels of the beast are the best of Analog simple and effective.

UTILIZATION

One can use simpler: Turning the knob to assign the effect to the desired speed. A crucial point: at any level, the effect is MUSIC.

SOUND QUALITY

Musicality, is the key word of this pedal. I might add elegance, class. At ease with both a Stratocaster with a Les Paul, on an amp like an audio interface, the MXR 90 Vintage reissue always gives distinction to his classy. The effect "turns" perfectly, and with définiton on ALL frequencies: no boost in the midrange or lower level in the treble. In short, you'll understand: this is, in my opinion, the best existing phasing.

OVERALL OPINION

Fan of MXR pedals virtually from their marketing, I owned this pedal in the early 80s. When I seriously called to the electric guitar is out of course that I have once again acquired.
I know a lot of pedals and phasing've owned a Small Stone in the '70s. Nothing equals the lavish musicality of this model.
