WCR Guitar Pickups has announced the release of the IceBucker set, which is composed of two humbucker pickups.
Inspired by Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer (hence probably the “IceBucker” name), these pickups were designed to cover both vintage-style tones and heavy metal sounds. These pickups are said to assure optimal note seperation, harmonics, and articulation even through the most hi-gain amps.
The IceBucker set comes in various color combos (Zebra-Cream or White, Reverse-Zebra Cream or White, Double black, White, etc.). Gold hardware is also available. The pickups read out at apprx. 8k at the neck, 9.7k at the bridge. According to WCR, the coils in each pickup are slightly off balance from each other to maximize harmonics, articulation and note seperation. 3 different cable/conductor types are also optional at no extra cost on this set: Braided, 2 conductor + ground, and 4-conductor + ground. Solid nickel-silver covers are optional as well (extra) in Raw, Brushed, and Polished. Mounting screws and springs are included.
Each set in standard version is available from WCR for $365.
