Slightly heavier than average
Published on 07/11/11 at 21:37These are the strings I like to use on my shred guitars or guitars with tremolos. My 10-60 Zakk Wylde strings would be too much on a 25.5 inch scale guitar with a floyd rose on it so I use slightly lighter strings and I am able to get good low E tension which is most important for me. I can get by with any kind of flop on any string apart from the low E. When I play a guitar seriously I need the low E to be extra tight. With these strings I can get that tightness on a Fender scale guitar.. I recently got an Ibanez and it seems like it had a set of stock 9-46 strings on it and I was fine with every string but the low E. The low E was flopping way to much for me. With these strings I can get that tightness on a Fender scale guitar.. I recently got an Ibanez and it seems like it had a set of stock 9-46 strings on it and I was fine with every string but the low E. The low E was flopping way to much for me. Even with the change from 46-48 the difference in low E tension is night and day. The string of course is not physically as large as the 60s I use on other guitars but the tension is very nice. The 48 low E hits above it weight class. The 10.5 high E might be a little heavy for some people. It is getting close to the point where it may be uncomfortable to play in standard E tuning. With the high E string playing with too high a tension can cause strings to break when you are playing hard. The high E and the low E set the feeling for the rest of the set pretty much. It may be slightly heavier than what you are use to if you are a regular 9-46 player but me coming from 10-60 sets on Gibson scale guitars I am use to more tension in my strings. If you are playing 10s and want just a little less slack in your strings without going to 11's these 10.5's are a natural choice.

Good strings
Published on 04/02/11 at 19:47Nice clear, precise, and crisp tone. Bright on the treble, but not overly so. They're very warm on the bass strings, but they still have some punch and bite. Very easy to string, and easy to fret. The tension is great. Not too loose, and not too tight. Anything under Drop D and they're really floppy in my opinion. Too floppy for my tastes anyway. Very easy to bend 3 steps or more. Easy to vibrato on, and just a joy to play on. Very easy to set the intonation for and harmonics ring out great too. They're not the longest lasting strings, at least not in my opinion. They last around 2-3 weeks, then start sounding dull and lifeless. They also, at least in my opinion, break very easily. I...…

They last around 2-3 weeks, then start sounding dull and lifeless. They also, at least in my opinion, break very easily. I always broke my G and High E when bending them. I checked over, and it wasn't because there was a burr. It was a weakness in the strings themselves, whether it was due to bad production or just bad quality metal I'll never know, but I've stopped using them because of it. It happened with more than one pack as well, so it was because of the way the strings were made. I haven't had the problem with any other string band or gauge I've used. I switched strings because I got tired of them breaking. Maybe it's just me, but they didn't seem to cut it. Many other people use them without problem, so I must just finger harder than most or something. Overall, they're decent strings. They can do Jazz to country to metal if you put them on the right guitar. All in all, except for them breaking a lot, they're ok strings, but there are much better for the price in my opinion. I've switched to Ernie Ball and haven't looked back since.

Ok no more
Published on 11/18/12 at 07:53 (This content has been automatically translated from French)The sound is brilliant, slamming and loud, it's true that they send more strings "normal" but it only lasts a few hours. They darken quickly (after one game sessions). I have had to stay with Elixir long life I used more than 6 months maintaining them well.

Hi!
Cordes purchased on the net, well, it's the strings strings, what is there not being asked, our cordounettes: to be well polished, very nice with our fingers, last, to make us play better, to not be too expensive to keep the agreement.
I ride these: first day impec, (I said: I wipe) the second day, rusty, all pourrites, as if they are several weeks old. My friend Alex idem.
I said that here we do not do that with other brands and that inquiry, we are not alone! phew, I started freaking out, kind, I have a string anti perspiration etc ... In short, change (s) brand and the problem disappeared.
I still had all the games I bought (10 to reduce shipping costs), and I repeat more....…
