The Fender PT-100 is a chromatic guitar tuner, suitable for use in the studio and on the stage, although I imagine most users will be using it for live shows. It doesn't have the most sturdy build, but will do the job well and should last at least a decent amount of time as long you treat it properly. The pedal has 1/4" TRS connections for input and for two outputs. The pedal doesn't make any sounds of its own obviously, but thus far while using it I haven't noticed any degradation of my tone or anything like that even though I believe that the pedal does not have true bypass. The most obvious tuner to compare this with is the Boss TU-2 tuner, which I consider to be a better tuner pedal overall. This one pretty much has the same type of characteristics and make up, doesn't have the same sturdy build. It also doesn't have as much tuning options in the form of modes, which is something that makes the TU-2 a special pedal. However, if you're not looking to spend that much money, the Fender PT-100 is a fine substitute. It is overall a very solid tuner, and has the Fender name, which is a company that I certainly trust. The PT-100 will get the job done for amateur users, but for professionals I'd highly recommend spending the extra money on the Boss TU-2. However, a major selling point for the PT-100 is the great price, as it is an option for most any user ranging from a new player to an experienced one. All in all, the bottom line is that the Fender PT-100 is a very adequate pedal but if you're looking for something a little bit more high quality, there are definitely some better options available.
