Maxon AF-01 Auto Filter

Auto-wah pedal with 5 analog controls:
- SENSITIVITY
- PEAK
- FILTER MODE - HP / LP / LP
- DRIVE MODE - UP / DOWN
- STORAGE MODE - HIGH / LOW

Audio Connections: IN (input jack) / OUT (output jack).

Alim. : 9 V battery / transformer. type BOSS 9 VDC.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is not complicated, and the manual is clear with examples of settings.

Editing sounds is it too easy when you read the manual.

As its name suggests, the SENSITIVITY control adjusts the sensitivity of the auto-wah, you add +, + filtered frequency range widens.

PEAK increases the center frequency of the effect, to emphasize the wah effect, as does the resonance filter for a synth.

FILTER MODE - HP / LP / LP selects a respective high-pass filter (cut the low frequencies) / bandpass (high & low cutting frequencies allowing only the center frequency of the effect) / low-pass (cutting the high frequencies).

DRIVE MODE - UP / DOWN directs the center frequency of the effect in the upward direction, UP mode; down, DOWN mode.

STORAGE MODE - HIGH / LOW means the frequency range between acute filtered (200 Hz - 4 kHz) or severe (100Hz - 2kHz).

SOUND QUALITY

We can use this pedal with a guitar or bass-cf. STORAGE MODE - HIGH / LOW serious (100Hz - 2kHz) for a bass.

For my part, I'm using it with a guitar, and the record is very good.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two weeks, and I love the sounds you can get.

For the cons look is hideous.

The price / quality ratio is excellent because I bought it less than 100 €.

Knowing she was released in 1984/85, is now a vintage pedal, and I do it again this choice without hesitation.
