I have 15 days from the L100 Century. Fuelled initially by a McIntosh amp 6200, Harman-Kardon CD player 970, Oehlbach connectors.
They are great, everything has been said already but we can only repeat, it's really great! They have flaws, of course, like all speakers, tinting, but frankly compared to what we listen to today, it's worth the trip!
Now I feed them through an amp built Dartzeel (2 x 250W), this big change, the reader does not follow at all, but still, what plays! The differences compared to McIntosh, is more open, comprehensive, robust, warm, melodic, more aggressive, in short it is much better, good price is not the same.
I reconnected the McIntosh, it changes it is clear, but his record is not bad!
In the past I have had JBL 4311B is not the same thing, the bass is quickly invasive, midrange and treble overlap, listening is more bland. Now there is the 4311 first version, it is closer to the L100, but I could compare the 4310 and L100 is very very similar, so if you want to invest in a vintage JBL speaker pick up a 4310 or L100 Century, the other models in the range, is less spectacular in my opinion.
