How long have you use it?
Some years

Have you tried many other models before buying it?
I'm a geek microphones so yes alas for my wallet ...

What thing do you like most and least?
So I have it used in the neck position on a Les Paul and a Jackson Dinky. C is full of bass and a little runny. Less about the Dinky but anyway. In the end I'm not convinced by the neck position ...
However I have it mounted on a telecaster alder / maple key. Given the caracs guitar, I thought that 81 would be too aggressive as a result, I have tried the reverse, 81 in neck, 85 in bridge. What a surprise !! The 85 has a huge potato, less surgical than 81 C is c is not the most groovy micro that is, but for the big rock, AC beats, especially ca installment in the mix.
The passage 81 in the neck is far from being bad. It saturates quickly on the other hand.
We tend to say that these pickups blur the violin, I had half of agreement. The difference is less obvious that with passive pickups, but EMGs on a wooden crate guitar will sound flat and sterile. On a good shovel, ca oats. Point bar.

How would you rate the quality / price?
C is the BIG advantage. This mic like the 81 is a mouthful of Cygnus for bread and often associated with elec. J was able to acquire the combo with electronic of 81-85 for 70th ...

With experience, you do again this choice
Yes. It s really a good mic. Not the best but good for the rock spot, it is in the top of the basket for me.
