Micro active Alnico5, 2 drivers (splittable version of this microphone is the EMG 89).

B'en the EMG 85 is really gnial, plain as a saturated Funny, he has a personality which I doubt, I must admit!

The sound is really warm, soft (no sharp aggressive), fairly typical short, an excellent micro neck, regardless of the style considered.

In bridge, it must be nice sacrment also more versatile, warmer, even than the EMG 81 for styles Varis trs. VIIII, the EMG, cest not only for large mtalleux nag!

These microphones are active, so no noise in sight, unless you rotten with jacks in your string effects, if you have a naturally pramp blowing, etc..

In short, this microphone is so enjoyable that return a config with other really hurts but should finally be the good old dbarasser prjugs on active pickups (in this c Does the bassists have davance shekels on guitar).

Dtail small, the batteries are given for close to 2,000 hours. A condition of well thought unplug the guitar when not playing.
Added 12/03/2005: In practice, I use alternately 85 and 60, in the woods of my guitars. With mahogany, I prfre the 60, less warm, to calm down the heat of the guitar (mahogany I think, especially on an LP, a husband becomes too imprcis 85 in neck).
For cooler wood (poplar, alder, lime), the 85 gives life the skyscraper. And to think that sbleuts continues foolishly out that EMG is cold ...
