Coming to acquire a Gibson LP Standard, I wanted to put him to good microphones.
I already have a LP Studio mounted Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates (ZZ Top) and having heard of this brand, I tested and approved!
The sound is just amazing! That sounds like a real Gibson LP now, I mean, the real origins, because it's been several years that LP no longer sounds like it sounded late 50's early 60's
The bridge pickup sounds clear limit as a fender, but with the hot side that is not obviously fender ...
When the neck pickup, we are little we usually use as it often sounds cracra but then, there are all the notes, including distortion, keeping the hot side and round the LP. Anyway, I can finally use this mic for the studio, very boring ...
The price / quality ratio is excellent as it is just more expensive than SD Alnico 2 and others for a perfect pro quality.
I remind you that it's handmade and Marc is at your disposal to tweak your sound perfectly.
I also revamped the entire electronic Marc, I now have real volume and tone knobs, sensitive and not badly distorted sound like any guitar on the original ... A big thank you to Mark, then!

Microphones mounted on my Gibson LP Studio 1990. Microphones very flat and mushy and original draft with gain, so much so that I almost did not use this guitar more.
I ordered this set of Marc bam 59 alnico 2 without special mod, received within 8 days and mounted on with a change of capacity recommended by Marc PIO KA ... with Soviet's assembly 50. Well, I do not regret, far from it ... the guitar is unrecognizable, sumptuous sounds clear, very open, powerful, dynamic and very good sustain.
A nice round neck pickup super balanced where all notes emerge, the bridge slamming wish crystalline always this perfect balance, the middle position is a more compressed hair but really a treat, I'm not tired, I 'have a new guitar in his hands.
In Crunch or gain, is ecstasy, while I play fender supersonic amp, with this set tornado, I sound now that pulls marshall JTM45 kind, amazing, I'm thrilled, c ' is exactly what I wanted. Even at very high rate of gain is always super clean, never mushy, super balanced when all notes off and form beautiful harmonics.
By varying the tone settings of the guitar or amp, it is easy to find the sounds of Angus Young, lynyrd skynyrd, allman brothers, Mick Taylor version of stones, kravitz ...

A tornado perfection!

Micro replica of the original PAF, unwaxed, Alnico II, made in France (77)!
Installed for 2 months, I wanted to test in several config to write an objective opinion.
Standard installation of humbucker after trying moult and moult pickups (seymour, gibson, gfs, ...)

Caution quality electronics should be optimum for any shot opportunities and quality of these microphones, mounted on a type LP

Sound:
We are immediately struck (like slap in the head ) by the brightness compared to all dual "current" coils or those supposed to be the reissue of PAF. Brightness, definition and dynamic sound, not the knobs Volume and Tone had never been more important (hence the absolute need for an electronic following these excellent microphones, ditto for the amplification dimension ) found (finally) sound we dream! In clean is warm, round but not "dark" (why use the Tone!) The neck pickup to a pleasant sweetness without being cartoonish, the bridge pickup a little light sour dimension 2 together and rediscover paradise. .. and it would be fine knock on the door ....
Crunch, although it wrong .... But really well, playing on the intensity of your game we go from clean to a slight crunch and that without touching the volume button with a crunch that is more consistent .... this is incredible!
Saturated, we forget who we are, where we are and how we are called! We say "not possible such a killer sound" and then we realize that it is us! Lowering the volume is turned to the crunch, the tone gives a little depth by lowering it a bit and can be detached for a solo in the back: Perfect! virtually no need for a boost

After 2 months:
of rehearsals with several amps (JCM 2000 mod 100/50 W and a personal "marshall" digital preamp half and half amplification lamp 50 W, 1 Hughes & Kettner 100 W, 60 W Fender, Peavey Classic 30, Ashdown 50 W)
of personal records (transplanted from my JCM or digital processing)

It's been two weeks since I get my guitar (Gibson Les Paul Standard Black 1995) at Patrick Querleux (great luthier from Joinville-le-Pont). He put me on a beautiful vibrato and a set of PAF 59 Tornado MS. While I my bearings towards Lollar or Bare Knuckle, I was intrigued and attracted rave reviews these "craft" microphones and 100% made in France!

Following a telephone interview, Marc offered me a set 59 PAF Alnico 2 slightly under wound. My hope is to find the sound of yesteryear, blaming the original pickups (490 and 498) aggression, including treble micro bridge.

Well I am completely amazed by the result that goes beyond my expectations! I confess that I had somewhat neglected the importance of microphones on a guitar, whereas the original ones should not be so bad. Compared with PAF 59 Tornado MS is really night and day. I did not know that a change of pickups changed (magnified) as drastically the sound!
I always put the wrong aggressive sound on the back of the amps: Peavey classic 30 and Vox AC4 (amps "honest" but really nothing to "debunk" a statue!).

The tonal balance of the instrument is absolutely amazing. Microphones Tornado MS actually put in the intrinsic qualities of the guitar. I mean they do nothing to distort the sound but remind me why I've always loved the sound of a Gibson LP.

The micro bridge is fantastic: large dynamic enormous musicality, a gain not "monstrous" that allows all the nuances of the game and especially more acute unpleasant to the ear (the dream!). The neck pickup is just as amazing. I almost feel like playing the electric guitar "sound" (not very clear but I think you understand me). In addition, the balance between the two microphones is perfect and I can easily go from one to another.

But what surprises me most is the extensive sound vocabulary. It's like a 3D effect. The spectrum is perfectly clear and identifiable: acute sing (I tend to put very little aggression seen and I discovered that they can be beautiful and musical!), Mids and bass growl are warm and accurate (for an LP!).

In fact, I rediscovered my guitar: heat, big personality, unique ... I can not imagine my guitar plugged into an amp worthy of that name. JMI, 65 amps, tweed 5E3, Dr. Z. etc ...

I use it for 2 months on a lemon burst r9 already sounded the fire god, but Burstbucker, although very creamy and medium lacking a hair definition notemment clear sound or rhythmic crunch

Therefore replace the Burstbucker, I have tried double-di Marzio paf pro, classic, 57 Gibson and therefore ms tornado

The Paf of Ms tornado are articulated, wider bandwidth, a little dug in the medium and certainly more lively and readable as Burstbucker. we finally play some of the volume and go from a saturated rich harmonic sound super clear without touching the amp. A really good set!
My R9 (not Gibson huh renault) sounds really fire god.

The value for money? Well the custom handmade by my requests for little more expensive than the industry? Chose your camp comrade.

I explained to Marc my tastes and desires: 2 alnico humbucker with Trestle level
output a tad more than handle (normal) not too serious in the neck (default for my taste usually found) balance in the intermediate position and son for 4 splitter.

Well done! the sound is what I wanted, nothing less!

with wiring 50 'volume is super exploitable .. the clear acoustics almost creamy crunch or surly millimeter.
it's simple, I added before pickup booster or an overdrive as a boost or crunch from + ..... I gave up: plug and play into a tube amp and the rest of the fingers: top! crunchy blues melody to the angus .... everything is there.

I add that I have also never heard such a difference when the microphones are splitted .... frankly it's worth .. Trestle telecaster it's almost ... it serves me well, one skyscraper to any one cable ..... not life

This is amazing!
It is really on another planet with this set!
One word: fun.
Its clear that slides under his fingers, hyper singing, accurate, transparent, deep. Drive a light natural sounds, and authentic living.
In overdrive (luther drive), it's the attack of the body always, ultra balanced, never muddy and especially "unzipped" when compared with classic 57.
Saturation (WF Proco Rat): huge presence, excellent sustain, treble singing always, never aggressive, precise bass and corpulent.

A strat with humbuckers like this is divine crystal.
With a set of this quality (originally designed for the universe Gibson), everything sounds the evidence.
We call this class!
In short, it is a lifetime investment.

I bought these microphones in October to equip my History Les Paul (MIJ not degeu) in October, after having tried many pickups (gibson, seymour, di marzio, schaller, gfs, bare knuckle ......) j 'I decided to make the "Made in France" and I was not disappointed, so I ordered a set of 59's humbucker zebra finish (but covers are provided) and after installation I found a sound I did not know .... It's microphones "breathe", they are beautifully balanced, I did a "blind test" gibson lp with lp std and classic home and my little MIJ was frankly above batch definition level of sound, microphones other lp seemed dull and flat ....
The price / quality ratio is good, it was worth the money and I just waiting to find a good strat to test MS tornado single coil.

No, I turned to gibson or seymour, but the microphone was generally different from what I wanted.

T Top is sharper but makes much better medium than the SH2 and once splité is really slamming.
the paf neck is very round and creamy, the medium is still really returned, and once splité it gives another dimension (like the intro to stairway) really stunning

There were more than they! After trying (and retained since, despite some confrontations with other microphones shops) the strat set 60, set P90, the tv set 55, I had to try the famous set of PAF. I struggled to come here, I thought I had found my happiness level humbuckers. Serious error!

After a few tried everything ready (I know I abuse ) in humbuckers (seymour, seymour antiquity, Lollar, BKP), I thought my config was correct and that I will not do better. I pestais from time to time on rendering of a little fat neck pickup, or a note a little harsh in bridge, but I put it on account of my stringed guitar (Italia Maranello Custom), which are all of high good quality for the price, has certainly not the same wood and varnish that Gibby R9 (whatever ) or other accabit this guitar.

Well I was wrong! Marc I ordered a set of PAF wound slightly below (about 7K and 8K race in in bridge). Once mounted humbuckers set, my first thought was to the neck pickup. After adjustments necessary adjustments with all microphones mounted Mark I (quality has its own requirements), I finally found THE neck pickup. Round, but clear. flute, but open. Low, but the brilant. Incredibly, I did not think it existed!
I went to the bridge, and there all the same, but in the other direction! A micro bridge nasty, responsive and fits in, but not harsh or aggressive. P90 spirit somehow. Super well balanced, beautiful mediums of acute present but soft and not boomy bass, really great! And the intermediate position is the best of both worlds.
What I particularly like about these mics is their balance. No dents or frequency level, I pass the fly bridge pickup to neck pickup without any difference in level, more controls volume / tone are super exploitable (I did a 50's wiring).

After mounting the entire guitar pickups Marc, I thought I would be surprised. And whether, and how! This set of PAF is just wonderful, the best set of pickups that Marc did to me jour.Je therefore recommends that all lovers of authentic PAF, clear and open. This set on a beautiful and good Gibby, it must be wonderful! I think the shot .....
